A bit tongue in cheek there with the title, but yes, can you think of a Lightheavy That moved up to the heavyweight s, that perhaps gives Prime Tyson a decent few rounds?

Good question,Fergy. Billy Conn's mobility may well have taken him into the third round.

Spinks froze the result in no way reflects his capabilities.

No that's true. Spinks was a great fighter, he had the misfortune to run in to prime Tyson.

Assuming you consider a non title fight between 176 or 177lbs and 169lbs boxers as a slighty over the title weight contest between 2 x LHWs (or a LHW and SMW), then Holyfield was a LHW that eventually moved up to HW....

It would be really hard for any decent champion not to put up a better effort than the frightened Spinks

True, mate. If he could have done that, make things interesting for a bit.

Bob Foster could probably last about 48 seconds longer

    Me too mate.

To answer the original question, there's an ex MW titlest who moved up that I'd back to last longer than Spinks and quite possibly last at least a few rounds - James Toney.

Intresting match up. Can you imagine the build up?!
Better than Tyson v Ruddock even.
Would be a good fight actually.
Wonder who'd bet on Toney lasting twelve??

The list of fighters I'd back to stop the Toney who fought Peter inside 12 rounds wouldn't be all that long, but the Tyson who fought Spinks would be on it. Im confident it would take him longer than it took him to stop Spinks, though, even though I'd back Spinks to beat Toney from LHW upwards.
