Tony Tucker vs Michael Spinks

In 87 it would be a close decision either way.

 

If Tucker, and that's a big If has his head on straight he might stop Spinks.

 

I think Spinks does well here. Maybe not a victory but a solid outing.

 

In 1987 I would have gone with Tucker by a close decision. I don’t think Spinks had his heart fully in boxing anymore and Tony ( unlike Gerry Cooney ) was still a very active contender who was in superb shape

 

Because Tucker allegedly liked to powder his nose. And as far as I know Tucker was allegedly not the only champion from the "lost generation of the 80s" who liked it.
Yes. I agree that a fit Tucker (Tyson or Douglas fight) would beat Spinks.

 

Does Tucker have a broken hand like in the Tyson fight or is he 100%? If so, 50\50

Could go either way. Tucker would try to use his size and power to wear down Spinks. But Spinks’ unusual( I hate saying awkward ) style might make things difficult for Tucker. If, and it’s a big if he lands a good right, he’d have to get Spinks straight away. Michael didn’t care how he won, survived, didn’t get hurt. He’d hold, run, anything to clear his head. And of course he could box. Tucker ain’t doing a Tyson whether round 1 or 3. I’d say a very close decision either way. Not sure who but very close.

 

Tucker by UD. Any good heavy with good boxing skills would have taken Michael at this time as well.
