Matchroom FC was actually Sky FC all along. The amount of utter shyte posted in the comments on Sky Sports Boxing’s social media channels is unbelievable. Taylor is crap because someone has only watched his last 2 fights so that’s what they’re judging him off and I’ve just seen someone say ‘Big Fraze’ will win a world title by the end of the year.

Big Fraze is horrendous. I think even Jim’s fave Nathan Gorman might stand him on his head.

Good matchup, I think Opetaia might win. Also apparently Billam-Smith Masternak will be next too, so Okolie will move up to heavyweight. That all makes sense. If Riakporhe and Billam-Smith win they can make the unification which will also be a rematch from their first clash on July 20 2019.

Opetaia has 65% of purse to play with. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Riakporhe I n Oz. Feel for him as the CBS fight is there to be made and likely more money.

The division must be worse than I thought if Masternak has got himself into a mandatory position. He was crap when he fought Bellew about 8 years ago.

Does Dean Lonergan still promote Opetaia? He’s been over here a few times and said he wants to bring him to England so it could be a Wembley Arena job.

I believe that’s an ongoing court case. Jai wants out. Pursebids allow him to fight contractually free whilst he sorts the lonergan stuff out. Unless he’s resolved it over the last few weeks

    Nice one.

Sad to see stuff like that. Happens a fair bit when a 'smaller' promoter brings someone through to be a world champion (Barry McGuigan with Taylor, Hennessey with Fury, Lonergan with Opetaia etc) - the fighter ends up wanting the bigger promotion/platform and it ends up in a court case.

Why are they going to Brighton ? Will be on August 19 if it happens. The arena holds 5000.

Boxxer’s venue selection is bizarre. 2 London fighters going to Brighton is daft… just do it at the Copper Box.

Maybe they're contracted to do so? I honestly do not know, just thinking out loud.

I can only think that the arenas in London were booked for August 19 which is the date Sky wanted so they decided to go to Brighton instead. At least they'll sell most of the 5000 arena which is better than only doing about 4000 of the 19000 at the O2.

Boxxer don't even have any fighters from near that area do they ? A lot of their fighters down south fought on the Bournemouth show recently. Maybe Mikey Mckinson might get a big fight on the card.

Feel for McKinson. Put up a good fight against Ortiz and now he’s just fighting on Boxxer cards at 6pm.
