I've no idea. I don't know what you buy when you buy a magazine. I suspect their archive has value. And the circulation. I don't think any building assets will transfer as Kelsey is part of a massive group of publications.
I miss monthly, it was packed and had some brilliant articles. Never enjoyed Ring Magazine as it was always expensive and about 3 months out of date!
I was part of a newspaper sale once. The valuation did not include the building same as this one; the advertising potential, subscription base, the "masthead" (brand) and any archive pretty much cover it - with a standard accounting convention called "goodwill" representing the premium to the buyer for acquiring it, if any. I'd be surprised if there were many full time staff as opposed to freelancers so if it's a way to get serious boxing journalists into ID's stable and cross-promote the two services then it might be a bargain anyway.
Subscribed to it after recommendations on here a few months ago. Real, objective journalism that doesn’t shy away from controversial topics. A gem of a magazine.
I still enjoyed The Ring as a kid, buying old copies of that, and KO Magazine from Guardian Royal Exchange in Manchester City centre, BM was a huge loss, I still have the very first issue of it. I just hope Boxing News doesn't lose its integrity, been a subscriber for decades, I get annoyed if it doesn't land on a Thursday!
Yeh i was tearing my hair out when it was usually a week late during the postal workers strike.Saying that i supported the strike
Some posters setting their stall out proper with these weekly subscription revelations, nice one chaps. Newfound respect here for these dedicated students of the game.
Still the best sporting publication around. This week's story about Howard Rainey and the ex-boxers moved me to tears.
Yep it is shameful none of the top promoters contribute to the Ringside Charitable Trust. To be fair i think Ben Shalom and Boxxer are looking at it
