    Really?

I know you that you like to play devils advocate and be argumentative for the sake of the debate.

But you know what I’m saying.

A knowledgeable fan can clearly see if someone has great technical skills, no matter what era they fought in.

A knowledgeable fan knows that they were great fighters in every era.

A knowledgeable fan knows when an era and a division, is either strong weak or average.

What's your opinion of modern woke Hollywood? Rings of Power better than Jackson's LOTR? Little Mermaid remake superior to the 1989 version?

Yeah it's all bad man especially the remakes no one wants, they just did one for White Men Can't Jump & it looked overly try hardy, sad, cringe all at the same time.

How about due to the fact that a boxing bout is so much more absolute than other sports. In other sports you have titans playing each other all the time. How many games in the NBA finals? How many times have Federer and Nadal played each other in a grand slam final? Your team played 65 games this year?!
So much in boxing is about timing, the handing over of the torch, the if onlys and hypotheticals. It lends itself to nostalgia quite easily if you ask me.

I haven’t heard of Mike being on PEDS.

No, it isn’t a terrible example.

I picked them because they both had amazing technical skills.

Yes, PEDS make you train harder and recover quicker.

But guys are always going to have a certain style.

Some guys have great technical skills.

    Some guys have basic skills.

No amount of PEDS are drastically going to change their technical ability.

James Toney, Mike McCallum, Sumbu Kalambay, Michael Nunn and Reggie Johnson etc, all had superior technical ability to today’s group of MW’s. And it wasn’t because they were on PEDS.

    1. Fighters fight infrequently. And, so the sport moves relatively slow compared to say football. There isn't an abundant supply of fights so us fans have to look back through the archive and feed our need to learn & be entertained with quality boxing.
    2. Boxing is an individual sport, fighters are their own brand (not a team sport).
    3. Genuine 50-50, high level fights are a rarity.

I'm not sure, when I have played devils advocate here, for the sake of argument.

Is it when I don't agree Tommy Burns would beat Deontay Wilder? Or Billy Conn would KO Usyk? Or that Marvin Hart would walk through Frank Bruno, almost like he wasn't even there? And how about Corbett beating Tua... or when I had the audacity to suggest, that if more than 50 different men were able to outpoint Fritzie Zivic then, surely, it wouldn't be unrealistic to think, that Mayweather could do the same thing!

Am I being argumentative, If I don't agree with these things?

Leaving aside the personal accusations in your exchange, which I take no stance on:

I think the profile he described is a recognizable type. Hemingway would be another good example.

theres as many that dont fit the profile as there are those that do, meaning it dont mean ****, other than as an insinuation bout something else.

If 50% fit the profile, that would more than explain the prevalence of nostalgia in boxing.

I think the figure is much lower than that, but still enough to tilt the community in a nostalgic direction.
