Taylor, but it’s an easy one for me as I’ve not watched Prograis as much (including his last fight). He put up a terrific fight against Taylor himself but Taylor lost twice, convincingly.
Prograis looked helpless least night against a guy with a plan to stick and move. His corner either gave him bad advice on how to counteract the movement or he didn't listen. Either way, a very bad look. Neither Taylor nor Prograis are top notch boxers. IMO. And their fights this month prove it.
Goes to show that the 140lb division that Taylor became undisputed in was/is very weak Taylor is not a P4P fighter, never has been
Taylor is more flawed because of his messing around with too many different trainers but i think if you could pick to train one from the day they turned pro then Taylor had more ability. Taylor has almost sabotaged his own career.
Could be. Taylor is his own problem; one dimensional seems the case now. The head switches off and the 80% between his is ears that the very best have is all but lacking since Catteral. Davison will ruin a fighter or 2 but with a seasoned one like Taylor did he cause that or bring that on? Is he just getting Exposed? Maybe..., but being in search and destroy mode while blocking punches with your face is not a game plan that will work for anyone with most, let alone the best in the game, regardless of the trainer and his advise. He has/had Height and Reach on his side but still. So maybe its just a thing of IQ, and the belief that is false or not real when it counts. 'He said he was gone after 4-5, again, and I believe him. So if he can get the head right the rest may follow, and if he gets and takes instructions worth a darn maybe he isnt done for some belts. He moves up hes still a payday until he isn't, so we will see...
Right you are. Prograis had 3 guys talking to him his corner. Sooner or later that's a recipe for coming unstuck unless you've got real P4P skills. He doesn't.
his corner told him to counter punch when he needed to force the guy back instead of following and countering.
There is no more or less for either fighter. Styles makes fights and they both were confronted with styles that they hadn't faces before. Taylor never fought a fighter with the speed and power combined of Lopez and Prograis has never fought a fighter where he had to cut off the ring to catch him. All fighters have flaws, Thier flaws just happened to be exposed in these two fights.
