Nah. The Saudis are paying him good anyway, plus he and that Abdullah guy are in tight with the Sports Minister Sheikh that funds the whole boxing operation so he'll serve in an advisory capacity.

I agree with you in principle, I'm against catchweights in title fights, and I agree he shouldn't take short cuts to making history, for full glory. But Cruiserweight is different than other weight classes. Other weight classes do not have 25 lbs between weight classes, so it's a completely different situation at Cruiserweight than it is at other weight classes.

And we can't forget that the original Cruiserweight limit was 190 lbs, or that the WBC was trying to lower the weight limit back down to 190 lbs. And thet weren't doing that to cater to Canelo, they were talking about doing that well before Canelo was seeking out a title fight against Makabu. So in my mind, a 190 lb catchweight is reasonable, given the history of Cruiserweight, given the weight disparity, given the fact that Jack can probably make that safely, etc. I mean, from Jack's own statements, his issue was 20 lbs below, suggesting he might accept 190 lbs but not 180 lbs.

So I'm in agreement with you here, but fans are going overboard with this. Despite my issue with catchweight title fights, I also recognize that Cruiserweight is different. So I understand the desire to discuss weight and to see if they can come up with a fair compromise. If they fought at 190, it would be the same weight when Evander Holyfield was Cruiserweight Champ.

In this topic, fans were arguing that 200 lbs is too high, they should never have moved the limit to 200 lb, it should still be 190, etc etc.

So I don't think there's anything wrong to discuss a weight compromise when we're talking about Cruiserweight. In other weight classes I am far less open to the idea of a catchweight given the margin between weight classes.

And you've been suffering from CDS for quite some time now. And with that out of the way.

Jack asked for this fight, against the much smaller man, knowing full well Canelo had already said he couldn't fight above 180.

Was not willing to make any concessions to earn a record payday.

Wanted the clout but couldn't handle the smoke.

Don't recall you crying this bad about catchweights when Pac was dubbed the Catchweight King.

Please, tell that to Manny Pacquiao or Sugar Ray Leonard. What exactly is happening in the Cruiserweight division anyway, it’s a wasteland where the most popular fighter is Jake Paul, let that sink in for a moment. Again, Jack fought 177 pounds two years ago and is a career super middleweight. He’s 40 years old with multiple losses already, are you saying Canelo shouldn’t fight Jack for the integrity of the sport or are you just a hater with no valid reason to hate?

Ryder was/is a legitimate top 2 contender in the Super Middleweight division. Stop being mad princess and learn to think objectively.

Top 2? lol. He is not even 5th, he is a journeyman who has lost to every UK fighter you can think of including rocky fielding. A real elite fighter would stop him in 6 rounds.

I'm not really interested in your opinion, I'm interested in facts. He's 5th now in the ring ratings and 3rd on boxrec, he was ranked higher before the Canelo loss and was his WBO mandatory.

Canelo wont fight anyone unless he has all the advantages, both legal & illegal in place. Plus the right officials
(Vegas kind) plus the NSAC to seal the deal.
He hasn't got the cojones to fight any legitimate opponent like Benevidez, Bivol rematch @ 168, on an even playing field. To ask Badou Jack to drop 20 pounds & then insist on a rehydration limit was asinine.
It really does amaze me to see boxing fans admiring his antics. They really believe he's the King of Boxing, because he said he is ROFL!! Ginger Headed Joker

I'm saying, the weight division is 200lbs. Its up to the Champ if he wants to come down or not. Nobody owes Canelo a shot, especially 20 lbs below the weight class limit. Canelo don't have to weigh 200lbs. If he is so bad, just come in where he feels comfortable and whoop the champ. There are 4 to choose from. Maybe one of the champs will come down 20lbs, i doubt it though. So far nobody was willing to sell their belt and their dignity.

If you are interested in facts then why are you saying Ryder was a legit top 2 fighter at SM when he was never rated higher than 4th in the rings and anyone with a brain can list at least 5 fighters that would smoke him there?
