    Can someone kindly post the el Feroz winky Wright breakdown? Forgive me, I have not watched it but I've heard Fernando brought the heat while winky was still creating his style. So did el Feroz win based on youth and energy with ferocity and high workrate and high punch volume? And wasn't winky not had yet discovered the high guard? The reason I ask is because once I've seen winky knocked down a few times (I'm gonna have to boxrec it) forgive my ignorance.

    Basically what I'm asking is was winky still green while Fernando just fought with aggressive youth and vigour? I blame the HBO team ingraining that into my head lol.

    Edit: Julio Cesar Vasquez put him on the floor multiple times.

    It is as you say. This was not PEAK Winky. He still engaged a bit too much to his disadvantage. It was a very competitive fight based on both fighters kind of letting it go and in that regard, that was Vargas' strong point. PEAK Winky was smarter, fought behind that piston jab, stressed defense a lot more and looked to counter.

    Not sure why anyone would want to use the "winky was not peak" defense., Winky was more mature and experienced than the 22 year old Vargas at the time.

    I am a huge Vargas fan. He wasn’t green. That was arguably his prime compared to post Tito ruining.

    that has nothing to do with his jab. since 1980 winkys jab is up there with whitaker, spinks, holmes, and bhop. Its a class above oscars for sure.
