Nobody expects this to be competitive at all. Dubois looked awful in his last fight and his former conqueror in Joyce was stopped so in hindsight he looks even worse now. I'm sure once we get into fight week, we'll see more promotion of this fight but even then I don't expect much hype or buzz for this fight. Dubois isn't exactly charismatic, it's going to come down to Usyk to try and promote this fight.
I originally thought this to but then I realised I don't think I've even seen an official announcement anywhere. Also for Taylor Lopez there wasn't a press conference until 4 days before the fight.
Doesn't have to be a monster fight but it is a big heavyweight showdown, far lesser fighters have been given more attention.
I think we should be demanding a formal explanation as to why this fight is happening in the first place. The unified champ having to fight Takam level opponents to maintain his belts lol.
I don't reckon this is happening, same as AJ v Whyte, Wilder v Ruiz and Fury's various potential matchups. They are all holding out for the Saudi bag and staying relevant by announcing fights.
We don't really need an explanation. The heavyweight division is filled with duds, who else is Usyk gonna fight if not Fury? A guy he's already beat twice? Someone who lost to Fury 3 times?
