Canelo in great shape already,

Charlo should have a fight or two before this though.

 

That's a shame, I was looking forward to Canelo's cruiser run at the 176lb catchweight.

 

The Charlos don't pull the gloves on very often these days.

I'm no ginger nuts fanboy and dislike his catchweights and other scams but you've got to admire how he keeps fighting regularly and almost always decent opposition.

14 months off is very common in boxing 14 months is is not 2 plus years not even close add to that he was not moving up in weight to fight lopez like charlo is doing with canelo and lopez was not considered one of the best fighters in the sport like Canelo is. With that said loma was still the favorite in that fight and lost a close fight. He lost because he refused to engage for the first 6 rounds had he engaged in those rounds he would've won the fight. Two completely different scenarios.

Yes but it would be a more competitive and better fight. Look at andre ward he was out of the ring for 2 years but not even as long as charlo was did he in his first fight back move up to 175 and take on kovalev?? Of course not he had a tune up fight at 168 for good reason had he jumped up to 175 immediately after his layoff he would've been destroyed by kovalev. Boxers need tune ups after very long layoffs no one in boxing would advise you to dive right into the deep end unless they know you're looking to cash out and retire other than that they will tell you to seek a tune up at the new weight. This is a dumb fight for both men to take first canelo won't get any credit it does nothing for him and two charlo is ruining his career being rushed into a fight he has no business taking right now. We don't know what charlo is right now he could be totally shot. Hell in his last fight he didn't look good.

 

I agree Charlo needs a tune-up, but I don't trust him to be active so I'm happy to get straight to this fight and knocked out of the picture.

 

I did research him and i listed what he has achieved. He is a domestic level UK fighter and his record proves that. His best 'win' was a robbery vs a shot Jacobs. He is fodder for true elites. Canelo dragged him into a 16 foot ring and still couldn't stop him yet you think he stops Benavidez, and you call me a casual? lol. I guess thats why Canelo went around the world to find opponents not named Benavidez right? because he thinks he can KO him? lol.

 

My issue with this deal is that Canelo will now consume three of the very few available PBC dates. So if anything Hayman's guys will be even less active.
