Has there ever been a fighter ranked as high as Crawford with such a poor resume?

Yeah, Spence. Guy, who has been fighting in one division and his best win was Porter, who Bud stopped and retired

Beterbiev should be higher than Spence in P4P list.

That Porter was better than the Porter that fought Crawford. Ugas and Brook are both better than that Porter

You mean Ugas who was clearly old and down the hill and Brook who had his eye broke by GGG ?

Spence will need your help after he fights Bud.

Guys sometimes do get very high p4p without really doing damage to name fighters. There was some chat about Orlando Canizales the other week, he got very high p4p without even doing the weight-hoping Bud has. So the answer is probably not, but it calls for a level of research.

I'm not the world's most knowledgeable boxing historian, but I do believe it's tough to recall a guy rated by most mainstream publications as p4p the best fighter on the planet and his resume consists of overmatched no hopers.

Who rates him number one on the planet? Ring has him at #3. Tbrb has him #3. SS #4. I don't look at any other rankings, who are you thinking of?

Most American publications have had him #1 at some point or another.

CBS, ESPN had him at #1. Ring has only ever had him as high as #2. Funnily enough they briefly had Inoue #1 over Usyk when there is no possible rational argument for that.

Inoue is above Usyk all over town, although those two should defo be top two. I think Crawford above spence is fine and those two are top ten. At least they are settling it now and soon enough we shall see.

Crawford is obviously a very talented fighter but I feel like guys who fight a flashy style get overrated because they fight guys who aren't at their level and they end up looking a bit super human. I can easily list a group of fighters who ended up being flops once they stepped up but I don't think Crawford is that either. He is no Andre Berto.
Spence on the other hand has a style that is very effective but is certainly not flashy. I feel like his style doesn't really have a kryptonite, but I do feel his style will be exactly that for Crawford. Just my opinion.
Neither of these guys will be remembered in the same way a Floyd, Pac, Cotto, ODH, Mosely will be. All of those guys were multi division champs as well.
