Tomorrow at the Minneapolis Armory, headlining on Showtime Championship Boxing. WBC interim world middleweight title at stakes, Adames' first defense. Williams is currently ranked #13 by the WBC (number three among contenders with the last name "Williams", behind #11 Austin and #10 Liam).
I want J-Rock to win and I believe he has the boxing skills pull off the upset. But his chin and his indifferent attitude after since he won the belts, gives me little hope he can pull it off. On a side note. Middleweight is really bad if someone like Adames the consensus number two guy in the division.
I like both these guys (probably J-Rock a bit more) but yeah...for either to be in a position to be champ does sort of drive home just how weak a field was (or is to be) left in the power vacuum as GGG exited his prime and soon exits the sport altogether.
J-Rocks durability seemed to always let him down just when he seems to be turning the page on his career. One those of those guys who had it all, but just couldn't take a punch all that well.
