Hahaha. I'm with you Manning. Wilder has bizzarely become some kind of god for losing to the same person three times!!
I admit he has improved since when all the forum had him down just as 'The Wndmiller'. But his cv still is what it is. barely any wins over anybody in the top 10. Ortiz and Duphaupas are his best wins for me. Hardly a steller career.
You've always got to take it with a pinch of salt when talking about the 'fight after the next fight'. Especially when it's Eddie Hearn saying it. Always the same thing - AJ is going to fight Dillian Whyte (i.e. the no-risk banker for Hearn), and then AFTER that fight, the fans will get the fight they want.
He is no different now. In the 2nd or 3rd fight he nicely used the jab to the body. But you can tell it wasn't something he was used to doing as he was still wooden in the execution of it. I don't see any improvement from 10 years ago to now. It's the same hit and hope fighter.
Funny how Eddie gets torn to bits over this, yet uncle comes out with actual dates, only to then move said date until it falls through! Uncle can't be trusted.
Frank Warren said Fury will fight Usyk in February, then April 29 as Wembley was booked and both fell through. He said Fury would be out before August and now he said it will be in September. Hearn receives a lot of harsh criticism. Joshua is the only one out of Fury, Usyk and WIlder who has fought this year, plus it wasn't on PPV.
To be fair, Joshua v Franklin was a very weak opponent in a tune up fight and it was a total stinker. Totally sick of Fury after his double duck and Joshua now looks finished with his only aim taking easy PPV Loot fighting other fighters at the end of their careers such as Whyte. The public have seen through Hearn's spin about Joshua and he really should retire before he ends up seriously hurt. Never has such a few mediocre heavyweight fighters earned so much loot. It is simply astonishing.
Wilder would put Joshua in a coma. Wilder also got massive heart unlike Joshua who spat his gumshield out against the Mexican fatty.
Yes, it’s frustrating. Heard Frank Warren say in an interview about 3 weeks ago that he was hoping to announce the Fury fight within 10 days. I just want to see Fury fight, so he’s in the best possible place for if we get the Usyk fight in December.
Franklin was not a good oppoenent. Although in hindsight he showed he's much better than his rated level. Having said that. Joshua is not the champion. He's allowed to face the odd weak oppoenent while ironing out his game with a new trainer. Fury vs Chisora 3 was a disgrace, more so for a 'champion' that avoids all threats at all costs prior. I can understand how Joshua isn't likeable. But there's no comparison since he and Fury held the belts. One mopped up the division. The other went on WWF and a coke binge. Fury's best ever win, Klitcshko, Joshua equalled that win in a voluntary defence. Likewise Povetkin. Look at Povetkin's run going into the Joshua fight. It's a far better run than Wilder ever had. Because Fury is a big doser he missed out on the Povetkin scalp.
Does anybody know what is happening with Usyk vs Dubois? It seems like ages ago that the purse bid was won by Usyk’s team. They were saying the fight would be in late August in Poland but I’ve not seen it officially announced and it wasn’t listed on Boxrec the last time I looked.
August 26 is the planned date in Poland. I think they are negotiating broadcast details. Will probably end up on BT in the UK.
