Best version of Max Baer vs the Lennox Lewis of Rahman 2

Baer is a surprisingly dangerous fight for Lewis, who is vulnerable to a good right hand as his knockout losses show. There's an argument to be made for a prime Baer also being the hardest puncher Lewis ever fought, which is another obstacle for Lewis to overcome.

You can't help but favour Lennox, but I wouldn't be surprised if a peak Baer managed to pull off an upset.

Lewis wins; he is hungry for revenge and thirsty for blood.
Max Baer is dangerous, but Lewis like this is careful. Lewis' powerful jab keeps a safe distance; strong right hand seeks and finds the target.

The best version of Max Baer ... mentally and physically ... had a chance to beat anyone in history on a given night. I don't think he overcomes Lewis' physical advantages though. Lewis KO in 8 to 10.

What would you call the best version of Baer? I read that he was even more ferocious before he accidentally a few killed his opponents. Would prime Maxie be prior to those instances?

 

I would say he was never better than the night he beat Max Schmeling.

 

that's the wrong rahman fight for me to give max a chance.

still don't think he beats lewis from the first fight, but focused lewis no way i'm picking him.

 

Yeah, the version that has no video footage of him who'd knock out any opponent in history. That Baer was awesome.

 

There is... no argument... to be had for that.

 

He could've been, if the story of Baer holding back after his accidental killings is true. Hard to imagine someone improving as a boxer by holding back their power out of fear of killing someone.

 

Lewis should of course be favored, and this might be one of the worst possible versions of Lewis to send Baer in against.

Baer's power woudl certainly put him in the argument.

He hit harder than the Rahman, of Rahman I, and perhaps not by a little.

Anyway, the majority will favor Lewis, and I will not challenge them on that pick.

 

Lewis 80/20 with Baer having a shot to put a big right hand on Lummox, putting him to sleep. Lewis' size would be too much for Baer to overcome.

 

Lewis comes out aggressive, looking for an early KO. Shame for Baer that Lewis is also a good counterpuncher (for a heavyweight). Countering uppercut.. to the moon.
