Prime Canelo lost to past prime Golovkin twice. They are similar level rivals but Golovkin is clearly the superior fighter. He had to be over 40 before Canelo could best him.
Yep, Golovkin should have 24 consecutive title defenses with 20 by ko, with two wins over Canelo. Canelo has 5 title defenses of the title he won from Smith, so he has a long way to go.
I agree both are overrated Golovkin's opposition was fairly weak, and Canelo has been gifted decisions. And I still believe the Kovalev fight was fixed aswell.
The farce of Canelo will be all that is remembered after he is done, and be seen for what it was by only the few. A cash cow con job. GGG owned him, while Haymon owns the sport.
GGG was better technically, proving twice he is/was better than Canelo. However, Canelo's resume KO's GGG by a wide margin, and it doesn't need Adelaide Byrd to figure this out. OK, Canelo lost to Mayweather and Bivol, but those are two tremendous fighters. At least he stepped into the ring with them, and in Bivol's case, stepped up in weight as well. GGG was stuck at 160 forever, why he didn't fight at 168 is a mystery to me. Who is GGG's best win? Jacobs? There is no one else on that list that scares anyone. Ryder and Saunders are better than the boxers on GGG's record.
Hell NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's not even in the same ball park When you get in the ring with Canelo you were facing Him, Vegas boxing officials, very suspect Peds testing & a Commission that tended to look the other way with Canelos behavior. GGG never ever got a fair crack of the whip
