Its not my view it's a fact that Briggs was the Lineal champion whether you like it or not, your opinion on whether Briggs was worthy of being a Lineal champion is irrelevant to this topic and that's a whole different subject.

The topic was "Who was the worst Lineal champion in the last 70 years" so i listed the names who were historically pretty poor Lineal champions compared to some of the other ATG's.

I think we are all well aware that Briggs was very fortunate to be in the position he was in, and he wasn't actually considered "the man" at that time. But as i said all of this is irrelevant TBH and it has nothing to do with this topic really.

I think we can all agree Briggs wasn't considered the best Heavyweight when he won lineal title, but then again that hasn't always been the case either. For example i doubt many people thought the likes of Leon Spinks, Hasim Rahman, Primo Carnera, James Braddock, Michael Spinks, Michael Moorer, were the best Heavyweights in the world at that time either when they were Lineal champions.

I’ve never seen someone this unwilling to admit they’re wrong. absolutely pathetic.

Well, the thing is he beat the man who beat the man...

But linear is a spurious term. Think about it; there really hasnt been a linear champ since Gene Tunney vacated the title.

It's just off topic TBH and doesn't really have much to do with the thread, i'm not trying to be harsh when i say this. But his opinion on whether or not Briggs was a worthy lineal champion is irrelevant and its a whole other discussion.

As i said i think any knowledgeable boxing fan knows Briggs was fortunate to be lineal champion, and he certainly wasn't the best Heavyweight in the world at that time. But again not too sound harsh but who cares ? it has nothing to do with the thread. Briggs was factually a lineal champion and meets the criteria for this topic end of nothing much else to say really.

    Right!
I guess that the thing is Max Schmeling beat Jack Sharkey who got beaten by Jack Dempsey so somehow Sharkey was made the bridge,...just like when Floyd Patterson beat Archie Moore who had lost to Rocky Marciano...

Spinks 100%. Briggs did get a gift vs an old geezer who received an even bigger gift vs Axel Schulz, but despite this, it's still Spinks.

Foreman's 90s reign was one of the biggest jokes in boxing, hardly anyone took it seriously...oh they may act like they did 'now' but back then....pfffft! But the Briggs fight was still lineal for what it's worth (not worth a carrot to me personally to be honest).

Briggs was regarded lineal a long way outside BF24 too.

Maybe it needs to be renamed The Cojimar 1946 lineal title. He could go all the way back to Dempsey and even prior and let us know who it should have been all the way up to the present. Some great entertainment to be had with that list.

  Isn't this the same guy who called Joshua the H2H GOAT, then tried sneaking his way off the bandwagon following Joshua's loss to Ruiz?
