George Foreman 40-0 a little under 5 years
Sugar Ray Robinson 40-0 a little over 2 years

obviously Foreman's competition was crazy, I'm a lot less versed with the guys Robinson fought, but he had a fight 14 days after the LaMotta loss and then avenged it 7 days after that fight

At his peak, I’ve never seen a fighter like Roy. He completely dominated great fighters like Toney and Hopkins and brutally stopped top contenders like Griffin and Virgil Hill. If he hadn’t fought well past his prime he would be considered far higher up in GOAT debates.

George Foreman lost the title after one year and was mostly fighting complete nobodies before that. He isn't close to counting.

Roy would rank far higher all time had he closed out his career as he originally intended (against Evander and Tyson). Wins over them then pulling the plug would've been phenomenal.

His attempt to defend his hubris due to that callout pierced the veil of invincibility.............

Carlos Monzon was as dominant as you can get.

Ricardo Lopez was also dominant but didn't have the best lists of opponents and the draw against Rosendo Alvarez was his only blemish.

Christ, the amount of fawning on this forum for George is really something, there must be a movie out about him or something :D.

Who plays Jimmy Young? Hopefully, it's some super, athletic, supremely handsome, star performer?

From a P4P H2H perspective, RJJ was possibly about as far removed from the best fighters in the world during his era as anyone in history.

McGovern, Mayweather & SRR are all other good shouts already mentioned on this thread.

Other examples of dominant runs, that include multiple wins over world class fighters, that I've not yet seen mentioned on this thread include:

    • Willie Pep - Was 134-1-1. Only loss to borderline ATG Sammy Angott up at LW. This run includes 4 x wins over the brilliant Chalky Wright, 3 over Sal Bartolo, the bigger Paddy DeMarco, Humberto Sierra x 2 & ATG BW Manuel Ortiz.
    • Jimmy Wilde - Was 137-2-1. 1 loss via 10-round newspaper decision & the other to the excellent Tancy Lee, later avenged. This run included 12 x wins in Flyweight world title fights as well as wins over the far bigger ATG BWs Pal Moore & Joe Lynch, and world class FW Joe Conn, the latter of whom outweighed Wilde by 20lbs, i.e. by modern standards a Minimumweight beating & stopping a world class FW, which is absurd.
    • Packey McFarland - Went 99-0-6 after reportedly (some reports suggest it was another McFarland) losing age 16. During which time he beat top 10 all time LW Freddie Welsh (and is reported to be on the better end of 2 x draws), top 10 all time WW Jack Britton x 2 and according to 14 x reporters beat top 10 all time MW Mike Gibbons (8 x reporters scored for Gibbons), as well as other borderline great fighters like Owen Moran & Jimmy Duffy.
    • Benny Leonard - After losing to Johnny Dundee aged 20, Benny Leonard went 81-0 in his remaining fights contested in & around LW. That run included 10-0 in LW world title fights and wins over top 10 WW all time Jack Britton (at LW), top 10 LW all time Freddie Welsh, top 10 FW all time Johnny Kilbane, Lew Tendler x 2, Rocky Kansas x 4 and avenging the Johnny Dundee (who he beat 5 times in total) loss.
    • Freddie Steele - Was 120-2-11 including wins over Fred Apostoli, Ken Overlin, Gus Lesvenich, Vince Dundee, Babe Risko x 3 and Solly Krieger.

Frazier and Norton would have smoked RJJ so bad Foreman would swear they cooked him on his grill, the fact that he wanted to fight a 40 year old Holyfield to add some sort of clout to his career is actually just embarrassing

Yeah, that SRR isn't anything special either, Liston would have destroyed him.

I'd have to say yes, considering the opposition, different weight classes and how he looked a class apart in so many of the fights. Yes, Griffin is in the middle of his run from Hopkins to Ruiz, but that was a DQ in a fight that Jones seemed to be winning. And setting the record straight with demolishing him in the rematch counts for me.

Watch all his "fights" lol. He had more losses than Maidana & Castillo. He should have been DQ,d against Ortiz for that blatant punk like assault on a defenceless opponent. Plus he should have been DQ'd when Roger entered the ring & attacked Judah. Not to mention IV gate against Pacquaio caught with ILLEGALSaline drip
in his own home with no TUE applied for. To call him a 50-0 fighter is ludicrous
