Looking at the promotional work for this fight it is being billed as 'undisputed vs. undisputed' so Jermall is still sitting out doing nothing with his WBC middleweight title. Is he retired? Anyway this could be a tactic to get as much as possible out of Canelo for PBC with this deal. If Canelo wins Jermell still has the Tszyu fight there, and there's then a back story for a Jermall fight, if he hasn't retired that is. Two big fights before a risky fight vs. Benavidez.
What's shameless about it? He was being criticized and called shameless for trying to fight Mall. Jermell is the more active, more motivated, more explosive Charlo, who's been calling out Canelo for years. It's Undisputed vs Undisputed. This is a massive fight.
I know how this is going to play out Fight 1 of Clenelo's three-fight deal will officially be against Jermello but in reality he'll actually be facing Jermallo Fight 2 will be be against Jermallo and they will sell it as ''big brother seeks to avenge little brother's KO loss'' although in reality fights 1 and 2 are just Clenelo vs Jermallo with a rematch clause
If that's true then my topic from 2 weeks ago would have been prophetic, only in the opposite order. https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/what-if-canelo-fought-both-charlos.705239/
Yup, you got me with the typo. And thanks to you, I didn't need to edit the OP. But the fact is, typo notwithstanding, I knew that this sort of thing could be a very real possibility. And if you go back I've made similar comments over the years along these lines.
I don’t blame him for entering the Canelo sweepstakes but he has been coddled by the orgs for so long why many have been waiting. If they let him keep the belts for another 6 months that’s a joke.
