Benavidez wants to jump to the front of the line. Benavidez should fight Morrell, that'd be a great fight. If Canelo beats Jermell and if Benavidez beats Morrell then it should happen. But Benavidez knows that he could lose to Morrell and lose his chance at Undisputed.

Is that "Fear"? Does Benavidez fear Morrell? Or does he fear losing the Canelo sweepstakes? Canelo has shown over his career he fears no one. Like I said, if both keep winning, the fight will happen. If Benavidez sits idle and doesn't fight Morrell, then he's not proving he deserves a shot at Canelo, and Canelo would probably give the shot to Morrell first. Which he should because Morrell called Benavidez out, clearly wants the fight, clearly is trying to make the fight. Benavidez backed down from that challenge from Morrell. Canelo should reward Morrell who wants to fight Benavidez rather than Benavidez who is looking to duck his toughest challenge. Morrell is the WBA interim, Benavidez is the WBC interim, and Morrell has been the interim for longer than Benavidez. If Benavidez doesn't fight Morrell, then Canelo should fight Morrell before he fights Benavidez.

 

So Jermell is looking at 2 potentially brutal KO's and probably like - If I'm gonna get KO'd I might as well get paid in this ma'facka.
Not looking good for a champ because excuses are easy to come up for in this one - I was too small, inactive, coming off big injury, blah blah.
With that said, I'm all for champs challenging themselves, but this one is not smart at all given the circumstances and also since his division is not cleared and he's been able to squeeze in it just fine till now.

What we have now is a triangle ducking theory right now, and fighters going out their way to give us stupid fights.
Canelo ducking Benavidez - Benavidez ducking Morrell, Charlo ducking Tszyu. So does this mean we get Tszyu vs Morrell next? Nah, they have more sense than that.

 

It's a great fight. he's not ducking anyone. Everyone wants to fight Canelo and fans wanted to see him fight either Charlo for a lot longer than they've wanted to see him fight Benavidez. And Jermell Charlo has been specifically calling him out talking about Undisputed vs Undisputed. That's historic. What kind of history does Benavidez give Canelo? He's just a young prospect challenging for his title. Charlo is 33 years old, a seasoned veteran in the sport who has collected all the belts at LMW, Canelo's old division. Canelo respects that, Canelo doesn't respect Benavidez, who's done nothing to deserve a shot at Undisputed. All Benavidez deserves is a shot at the WBC. To Fight for Undisputed he needs to do more like beat Morrell.

 

Bivol ducking Canelo as well. Everybody's ducking everybody lol. But the difference is Canelo is more active than all of these guys and has an ATG resume. None of these guys have proven themselves like Canelo has. But Charlo has done something that Benavidez, Morrell, or Bivol hasn't done, he's cleaned out a division and become Undisputed. And he captured those titles by devastating KOs. That's impressive. Jermell Charlo has earned this opportunity. He's done more in the sport than Benavidez, and he matches up very well with Canelo physically and stylistically. It's a great fight on paper and it will be exciting. Fans have wanted to see Canelo fight one of the Charlos for a very long time and this is the perfect time for it to happen.
