Exactly n if Tim does finally lure him n the ring n puts tha beatdwn on his ass he'll have his slurpiee army ready with excuses saying he was SHOT TO HELL no credit!

N even more reason for jermel to now avoid Crawford after he's done washing his boi Spence especilly considering his trippy stuttering reply he gave tbud

    A genius plan really

Alvarez is fighting the smaller Charlotte at SMW rather than the MW one? Wasn't he supposed to fight the MW one? Did the promoters accidentally mix'em up by chance? Or is there a 3rd Charlotte?

Damn l was looking forward to Charlo vs Tszyu. Guess they thought Tszyu was seen as too much of a threat and better to dump the belt and cash out vs Canelo.

I get why they did it, makes financial sense so can't blame them for taking it. But it's still disappointing as Charlo has no chance vs Canelo.

He's not losing to Tim. Who has Tim beat? What advantages does he hold over jermell in the ring? He's nearly beat in every department. It's wishful thinking because people don't like him and want to see him lose. They want to say he's scared of a guy he can either outbox or knock out. The truth is you wouldn't put a dime on Tim beating charlo who's the better more proven fighter. I'd rather see him fight Tim but the truth is if given the opportunity Tim would fight canelo at 168 over fighting jermell and it wouldn't be because he's scared shitless of losing or ducking jermell either, it would be because the opportunity is simply too good to pass up, I wouldnt like it but I would understand it.

Ill watch it but its a cherry pick and a half for Canelo.

Morrells a talent but had a very short career so far, only 9 fights. Hes not a proper scalp yet

Wrong! Mikey was seen as too big for Loma even when he was at 135 the truth is Mikey was having trouble making the weight and needed to move up. It definitely wasn't because he was scared of loma that's ridiculous. With that said Spence was a much harder fight than Loma period for obvious reasons.

@shadow111 It's a joke fight, man. It's in the same category as Spence/M Garcia or Loma/Rigo.

The weight issue is not only about a fighter's natural size but also competition how they condition their body. Jermell was quoted last December as saying "I make '54 very easy", and in fact he has fought there his entire career. He would need much more than three months to build up his body for 168, and then of course he'd need a couple of fights north of 154 to acclimate to fighting bigger men. Jumping straight from 154 to Canelo at 168 is not going to work.

Canelo himself resisted moving up from 154 to 160 too quickly, even though he already held a MW belt! He was quoted in advance of the Khan fight: “I’m not a middleweight,” Alvarez said when discussions veered to a potential showdown with IBF and WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin. “I’m a super welterweight. That’s my weight class. I wanted to fight this time for some sort of title at super welter.”

So Canelo wins the title at a 155-pound catchweight, defends the "middleweight" title at 155 in two more fights, finally moves up in an ease-in fight against Chavez Jr, *then* fights Golovkin. It was 16 months between Canelo making the quote above and the first fight against GGG.

And now that the shoe is on the other foot, Canelo is dragging up a guy for the "undisputed vs undisputed" who has taken none of those steps to prepare himself -- and that's for two divisions, not just one like Canelo was doing. I actually like watching both of these guys and will buy the PPV, but don't delude yourself into thinking it's something it isn't.

I actually think Canelo might surprise everyone & go after Benavidez next or even Andrade since he's in the Pbc stable.

I remember watching this only for Canelo to go & stop Plant soon after,

Now Jermell will get to back up his statement.

Its a great fight imo.stop complaining about the weight i mean history is full of welterweight champion jumping 2 weight class the challenge for middle weight title this is the same and is an exiting match up.

I get it some fans of benavidez and tim are mad because those 2 are well deserving challenger but get over it
