Obviously overhyped. Martin wasn't even trying and he rocked that boy badly twice. Thirty seconds more in the 10th and Anderson is KO'ed and the ESPN **** lickers are sitting in shock. It will ne interesting on how they match him next. Definitely not with an aggressive puncher, so probably some feather fisted HW or a 40 year old shot name. He's got a long way to go to be considered the next big thing.
He was really only beginning to get hyped in recent months after the Forrest and Arias wins and even then it wasn't many people. But there were a few outlandish claims from some here saying here but you get that with every fighter on the way up as some people tend to lose objectivity. This recent fight with Martin should put and end to the hype surrounding him for a while or at least it should. People were hyping Makhmudov on here more, then he struggled with an old Takam which resulted in a change in expectations, only for some people on here to still think he's going to beat the top guys. Like I said some people just lack objectivity, doesn't matter what the reality is they will shape their reality to fit their narrative. Right now there's a question mark over Anderson. He's still talented, but he also has some limitations in regards to size and power. That can be overcome, Usyk is proof of that, but Anderson has a lot to work on before he's seen as a genuine contender. Right now he's still a young prospect and the potential is there, but potential doesn't equate to success.
I like him but sure, some people are overhyping him Alot actually relying on him to help the US muscle back in to the HW belt scene
Too early to say. He has more noticeable start, but wouldn't call that a hype. Give him some more 10 fights and we'll see.
The fact he was wobbled twice is the worry for me. If he's going to fight with his hands down and that awkward style he's going to get tagged and it didn't look like his chin was granite. Time will tell but those defensive lapses could be telling. Pulling back in a straight line is asking for trouble.
He lacks power, Martin clearly hit harder despite the flash knockdown, I think his reach was a problem too at only 78.5 inches, he`s no Usyk, Martin had an 80 inch reach and kept landing straight shots for that reason.
Chisora is a strong fighter and used his physicality to bully Usyk for the first 6 rounds till the ref warned him for holding Usyk`s lead arm constantly after that point Usyk battered him leaving him on his last legs and at one point hurting himbadly, Usyk would toy with Martin and Jared and Chisora might beat Jred and Martin too.
