I don’t see it. Shane was pretty good against guys who were there to be hit and never minded fighting guys with power.
Not at JMW, he was very subpar at JMW. Shane ain't gonna run you're right, he'd fight anyone and that's the problem. His only notable win was Vargas who had declined more than he had. Also, the only people that beat "prime" Jackson were all huge guys. Shane couldn't handle those larger guys with those type dimensions...........(other than Margarito). Julian would've been a nightmare for him.
Margarito isn’t the guy to not count though. He was more like Jackson than Winky Wright was. Shane also was competitive with Oscar at 154 and convinced the judges that he won.
Even the best Old Foreman vs. prime Larry Holmes. George wouldn't get stopped, but he'd look far worse than he did against Alex Stewart (as in, his face like a misshapen pumpkin at the end). Holmes would have won every round but one or two.
Yeah that's how I see this fight going. Patterson caught late while behind on points. Far from a mismatch imo. A real mismatch imo would be Tyson-Patterson and even Tyson-Marciano.
In the same universe Ali struggled 3 times vs Norton (lost twice, 1 draw in my opinion) and almost lost to Young. Show me a 70s Ali fight in which he dances even half as much as he did in the 60s. The "foot factor" is gone. Louis will get into his reach and catch him!
Ali was out of shape vs Young and past his prime vs Norton 3. Ali used his footwork and was very sharp for all 12 rounds vs Norton in their 2nd fight.
Since when is Earnie Shavers an ATG ? I think some people are misunderstanding this thread. "Pit Two ATG's Against Eachother"
