    You're arguing against something I haven't said.

I agree that the fact that he said that he tricked testing not to get caught for pot use doesn't mean that he took PEDs. All it tells us in regards to PEDs is that he knew how to trick the testing and could theoretically have done it for PEDs as well. It doesn't tell us that he did.

Oh OK sorry; most who make your argument also state or imply that it is likely the guy also cheated by using PEDs.
As long as you just mean it is possible, not implying that it is at all shown to be likely he used PEDs-then we completely agree.

This. If we'd seen Douglas from the Tyson fight turn up, mentally and physically strong, then it's a different fight.
Holyfield would be facing a guy, as he did with Bowe in 1992.
Not saying that Holyfield loses to Buster, but its probably one of his hardest fights to date.

I don't see any Douglas having the success that Bowe did but a motivated one at least could've went the distance in a clear loss or got stopped late at worse. Maybe then we would've saw his strength against Holyfield too?

There's a moment in the Holyfield-Foreman fight where they lock up, Holyfield tries to shove Foreman, doesn't budge him, and then Foreman slowly pushes Holyfield forward across most of the ring with what looked like zero effort.

Definitely. The Douglas that beat Tyson, against Holyfield.. Would be a decent battle probably.

I agree, except stronger does not necessarily mean hit harder!
Cooney hit extremely hard, as did Old Foreman, but just look at them when they fought-Foreman was way stronger, COoney just had great natural power & leverage.

Only way Holyfield was as strong as Douglas is well after they fought, after more fanatical working out AND PED usage.
Even unmotivated Buster when they fought was stronger, but in poor shape.

Naturally bigger & stronger than Evander.

Absolutely no cause to presume any fighter was using PEDs without good evidence.
Tyson was legendarily strong & bulky before even getting in a weight room & as a kid.
Before he had any *reason* to use, or access to, PEDs.
I met someone who described the insane number of pull ups in an L-shaped position you ng Tyson could do-as basically a kid.

Evander even with steroids had relatively skinny legs.
Cheatin' & lying & stealing success money fame & Glory from guys you could not take naturally is not a "so what" affair.

I have no proof either way about which boxers use or used PEDs. I know there was, and is, a lot of money to be made, and I think it is possible that many of them use PEDs. Again, I have no proof either way.

I like boxing! I know that much!

We know Tyson cheated drug tests. He admitted it. He had a guy in his entourage whose job was to carry around a fake dick just for cheating tests.

But by all means, believe the guy with the fake dick when he tells you which drugs he was cheating to make sure they weren’t discovered, lol.

First off, we don’t know that he wasn’t on gear way before his pro debut. School-age athletes in football and other sports are rampant with PEDs. Maybe Cus was pumping Iron Mike full of something else.

But we do know this, since you somewhere alluded to Holyfield putting on 10 pounds of muscle over a period of like 5 or more years and attributing all of that to PEDs:

Mike Tyson fought in the Olympic Trials in the 201-pound heavyweight division. Mike Tyson turned pro some months later at 214 pounds. That’s a minimum of 13 pounds gained in a few months.

He wasn’t so naturally hulking that he’d gain more than a dozen pounds in a few months, was he? Take a look at Mike vs. Henry Tillman in the amateurs and then take a look at the same two guys when they fought as pros … one has muscled up much more massively in the interim than the other.

Holyfield was freakishly strong for his weight, especially later on after the bowe loss.
Tyson was very strong as well but his style was squared up(especially after jail when his footwork eroded) His right foot came forward after launching the right hand and thats the main reason why holyfield pushed him back in the clinch.

Try squaring up completely and have another person stand in front of you but with one foot infront of the other in a classic boxing stance. I promise you youll be suprised how easily you can be pushed back. They can probably do it with a moderately strong shove with one hand.
