Far worse fights than this have been PPV over the years

Thinking about it, how many viable options do UK promotions have in terms of putting on PPV?

You can totally see why it's been planned as such

Now whether or not it's worth paying for? That's up to each individual

For that price I most certainly wont

Mainly because I think Whyte is awful and shot

Maximum violence promised every time only to deliver maximum plodding

Maybe Bridges isn’t on the card? Looking forward to the undercard announcement on Monday. For some reason I have a feeling Cash Williams won’t happen.

Not sure why Fisher is on this card. He can sell tickets for another of Matchroom’s London shows.

The casual is being asked for £47 PPV for Joshua v Whyte with not even a Brixton Title at stake for the winner.

'Trust us we will deliver unprecedented value for our subscribers and non of the fights are on Box Office' (Mr E. Hearn April 2023)

Cash has split with Sims so unless he has a new trainer already in place it’d be a quick turnaround.

£27 quid shocking for this. I actually back ppv....not just for the very top fighters. To get the sport moving etc. But 20 quid has to be the maximum and the undercard has to be top quality for it.

Once upon a time we got that.

I didnt even mind chisora being ppv....with a great undercard and fighting the best in the sport. He always brought it regardless of who he fought.

But whyte was pitiful against fury. And joshuas just struggling on now. We,re now paying more to guys who are now not anywhere near as good as they we,re once regarded with a worse undercard to boot.

How does that work. Ruiz beat joshua. Usyk beat him twice. Franklin gave joshua a good fight. And now we,ve to pay more than when he was undefeated looking like he,d take over the sport and whytes been knocked out by povetkin then put up a meek fight against fury.

Their pretty much being rewarded more for getting worse.

The truth is their probably isnt enough depth in stables to make ppv,s atm without it being the very top fighters facing each other. When hearn had crolla, quigg, brook etc etc. He could make a ppv card out of just a good fight. They dont have that depth anymore tho. Ebanie bridges and the rest of the names being touted for the undercard again much lower quality than previous.

Joshua gets rewarded for being popular. Nearly everyone he fights gets a free lunch.

Interesting fight given where they are both at. Joshua should win, given Whyte is shot and has the worst chin in the division. But you never know.

    I won’t be buying it

Out of the 24 votes so far, 7 have gone for Whyte, all by KO. This suggests people are expecting a much more competitive and evenly-matched contest than some claim it to be, does it not?

Seems like Felix Cash Austin Williams was agreed to be the co-main event, but as Cash has left his trainer I doubt it happens now and won’t be on the card unfortunately.

The original sales pitch for Dazn was ‘PPV fights without the PPV price.’ One cheap monthly fee and Fast Car Eddie was going to be signing up all the big names and having them fight each other and subscribers would reap the rewards.

Or, as PT Barnum put it: There’s a sucker born every minute.

It’s a good comeback fight for AJ but he’s got to go in there and put on a show. KO within 7 rounds. Whyte punch resistance has gone.

These two chinny bum slayers have mustered up two KOs in their last TWELVE fights; one against shot to pieces old kubrat pulev and one against shot to pieces old Alec povetkin.

Matchroom love to feed a shot to pieces old name fighter to their house heavies.

Twelve round gunshy bore fest guaranteed here from two mentally shot fighters. Only one winner on the cards regardless of how the fight goes.

“We all saw tonight a new Anthony Joshua, a more mature Anthony Joshua, we saw the spite was still there, the old Anthony Joshua and I think we’re going to see that in December koogs do you understand what I’m telling you? Under dereck james this new improved version of Anthony Joshua will box rings around Deontay wilder and he will knock him out in six, like he always would have done.”
