Patterson didn't take out amateur Pete Rademachern or other immortals like McNeeley, Harris or London in one round so I think that's a bit absurd .. if we knew anything at all about Sharkey it's that he was extremely strong, decently hard hitting and very tough .. other than that I honestly don't know ...

Sharkey was utter shite by Patterson's standards. And Patterson could not only box circles around Sharkey, he could WHACK with that left. KO 45 seconds.

Though Sharkey exhibited a certain measure of durability he was emphatically KO’d twice by Fitz.

I think lightning fast and hard punching Patterson turns the same trick - unless, of course, the match is refereed by a certain Twerp, who might call a dodgy foul against Patterson and DQ Floyd, awarding the fight to Sailor Tom.

Patterson handled strong rugged maulers like Chuvalo and Bonavena,I dont see why he would not do the same to lesser skilled smaller Sailor Tom?

It’s Major Tom (the junkie) you better not mess with…..not Sailor Tom. ;)
