Why the hell are people so big on that idiot Wilder right now?

The trilogy with Fury played its part in this, but I'm gonna throw in another angle here. He's probably getting more appreciation lately because the Heavyweight scene has been so damn dead, so all we have to do in lieu of any big fights is speculate about how some top matchups would go. A guy who has a big string of highlight reel knockouts is gonna look good during a period like that no matter who makes up his record.

Well, okay, someone like that dude Ali knocked out early in his career prolly wouldn't look too good even during a period like that. But you get the idea.

i believe it was actually half cyborg, wasn't it, which would, strictly speaking, make him a quarter android, or something.

Half human, half hybrid, half cyborg, all idiot, all windmill.

And I don't agree with this logic. I never thought Vitali deserved points for a spirited loss, and neither does Wilder. Especially now that he is 37 and had a busted chin.

But I do appreciate the contribution.

The problem with the idea that he does everything wrong but knocks the guy out is that works with Duhapuas and Molina, but not Klitsckho or Joshua, which is why he didn't fight them.

    Yeah, the names matter.

Wish I could "like" this three times. Nail on the head, I think.

Wilder is not a likeable person nor a skilled boxer.

That being said, he's never in dull fight, he always goes for the KO. I am very much looking forward to seeing Wilder-Joshua in December.

I was a supporter of his after the Olympics. Remember Emmanuel Stewart gave him big respect as a possible next big thing.(with Fury) Lennox giving Wilder pointers on training skill.

It's a shame Wilder and his coaches havent been able to round out his skill set better, train more balance and footwork, boxing ability because out of all HWs he had some brilliant potential. Needless to say he's still come real far with disadvantages.

I believe a similar explanation given by Nulla.
People made fun of Wilder, his 10 consecutive title defenses, his boxing skills, his resume,...
However, we watched a boxer who "constantly" knocked Fury down, and now we don't watch Fury at all.
    People forget quickly.

Yeah, but the Fury nuthuggers started praising Wilder once the reality set in that Fury may retire after the trilogy. I'm sure your read posts about the historic power, the Ko ratio etc.

Wilder was underrated from a head to head standpoint but now he is overrated.
