that did not result with a knockdown? Mugabi's uppercut versus Hagler. Arguello straight right against Pryor Lewis uppercut versus klitschko. Any others?
Off the top of my head there's a few that come to mind immediately. Toney vs Jirov round 12 i remember Jirov hitting Toney with one the loudest/hardest over hand lefts and Toney walked straight through it and proceeded to drop Jirov. Jefferson vs Harrison i can't remember what round maybe the 3rd or 4th round ? Jefferson lands probably one of the most brutal/flushest uppercuts you'll ever see knocking out Harris's mouthpiece and somehow Harris was still standing. Frazier vs Quarry 2 again i can't remember what round but there was a left hook that was so loud and flush, i'm surprised Quarry's head was still on his shoulders and somehow he was still standing. Holyfield vs Bowe 1 the famous 10th round when Bowe landed an unbelievable uppercut on Holyfield and somehow he was still standing.
Ah... my bad, sorry. One that comes to mind then - is Mosley's overhand right, landed with about 2 minutes to go in 12-th round against Oscar De La Hoya in their first fight. It went around Oscar's guard and looked very impactful, but Oscar ate it like nothing. Best I can do.
Some of the shots Tyson landed on Thomas were sickening. Already mentioned but the Lewis uppercut on Vitali, that sound...my God.
Shavers right on Ali round 2. If it was behind the right Earnie laid on Larry, it wasn’t far behind imo. People often to fail to highlight that Holmes was already notably hurt earlier in the same round (7) and was only partially recovered when Earnie caught Holmes again with the big right hand. Foreman’s huge left hook on Chuvalo that staggered him and initialised the Canadians acute cover up and one way backing off. Also notable was the sheer force of the punch - force that shifted Chuvalo bodily. Foreman could you hit in the top of the head and if it somehow didn’t buzz you or make your legs go out - the brute force could still drive you down to the canvas - like a nail being hammered into timber. It was a specific left hook that badly buckled Ali’s knees in round 11 against Frazier though Joe did land other shots - pre and post, but Ali came as close to a man being knocked down without actually going down. I recall reading an article that described the hurt Ali in round 11 as if he was riding a surf board, shifting his feet and hitting all manner of crazy angles, desperately trying to stay upright on his board. Imagine trying to manage that balancing act AND having Joe Frazier (Great White?, lol) slinging bombs at you at the same time. Eat your heart out Mick Fanning. I thought the board rider was a very apt description/analogy.
