What is this an Abbott and Costello episode? I say "8mil" then you say "no 5mil" then I say "Ok thanks for helping me prove your wrong" then you say "no both were 8mil" and the whole time you disregard Floyd fought one of the Goats expanding his legacy in ODLH for 25mil? That is not a Duck! It doesn't matter which way you try to slice it that is not Ducking an opponent. "Floyd was on his way out ??????? The clown is still bombarding the internet sayin he is STILL the greatest ever ROFL. " I believe you know what I meant but just incase it went over your head...Floyd was on his way out of fighting world class boxers not circus shows like McGregor and exhibitions.
Im not convinced he was THAT shot either simply because he never fought anyone like golota before that either. We can assume he was damaged because his career ended afterwards and he obviously suffered some brain damage and slurred his words, but in terms of when he was in the ring with him, when did he ever show that he could have beaten a golota anyway? When did he show he could take a big shot? That he could handle a skilled HW opponent? If the answer to all of the questions is the first Holyfield fight, then you got a problem. Because Holyfield made alot of guys look like world beaters. If Alex steward, Michael Dokes Bert Cooper Michael Moorer and the rest of the guys Holyfield struggled with had fought the rest of Bowes competition instead, they would also look like H2H monsters. Bowe has the worst competition of anyone i can think of in the ATG discussion. Thats despite being active and in his prime in a great era with a wide variety of available quality opponents. Add to that the notion that he was shot at 28? Slipping right after Holyfield 1? People make fun of tyson fans claiming he was slipping atleast mentally and technically after spinks but atleast he had a real run against the best available guys and looked spectacular. He came back and took 19 rounds of bombs against razor ruddock after he lost his title. 5 years of top competition before prison that you can judge his prime on. Bowes reputation is based on one single night.
Totally agree with everything you say as I said Holyfield was the perfect match up for Bowe, he was a small Heavyweight who liked to brawl and didn't hit too hard. Now I'm not saying it wasn't a good performance from Bowe it was but that's the only evidence we have of Bowe vs an elite opponent. How does Bowe match up vs punchers ? He never fought one. How does he match up vs big skilled Heavyweights ? He only fought Golota who battered him twice, and that's always put down to Bowe being totally shot. And like you I'm not totally convinced by that argument either.
Floyd didn't fight Oscar instead of Margarito Floyd was offered Baldomir at 8 mil & Margarito at 8 mil Floyd chose the cherry pick Baldomir that no one wanted to see. The fans wanted to see Floyd face Margarito who had just demolished Cotto. Neither Floyd nor Oscar would risk facing Margarito, You cannot blame them really can you ROFLMAO. All I ever wanted to see was Antonio get his chance at the supposed TBE LOL If Floyd legitimately beat him I was prepared to congratulate him & call him Champ But sadly Floyd didn't have the intestinal fortitude to do that did he he didn't have the stones to put it bluntly
