Hrgovic puts his career on the line to fight nobody, if he loses, that is it for him. Real TOP-G.

    • He was deemed the most avoided heavyweight, but after geting "exposed" by Zhang, nobody still dared to go near him, inlcuding Fury and Joshua - a lot of ducking for exposed fighter.
    • He was sabotaged by his promotors Eddie and german brothers, to keep belts on Joshua, making him inactive for 3-4 years and fighting nobodies.
    • If he loses to McKean (who has a chance of lifetime just because he is Australian - top 40 guy fighting number 1 on IBF, Hrgovic still hasnt fought anybody in top 10 officialy), he is done for. Joshua got another chance, Zhang did, Joyce did, Ruiz did, Wilder did, there is no chance for Hrgovic to come back from his loss.
    • He would be ranked 50th in the world, and that no one in top 25 would go near him. No chance for the belt, never.
    • He is spitted on by this community and in general, just because he is from Balkan. We can allow "them" a chance for the title.
    • Guy put it all on the line, and this community celebrates Fury, Wilder and AJ, fake champions.
    • He could have just sat on the mandatory spot and wait for Usyk December, he went TOP-G way, risking it all.
    • The only real fighter in heavyweight along with Joyce.

How many boxers duck him in the past ?

He is not lucky, don't have good promoter.

He is fighting whoever, to stay active and prepare for the main fight of his life.

Why does this fight not suit you now? Isn't this better than listening and reading the verbal wars of champions who don't want to fight? Hrgovic got the chance to fight and he wants to fight, every heavyweight fight is a certain risk and in order to succeed you have to take risks, kudos to Hrgovic and McKean for their courage, that's what boxing needs.

Zhang being somehow robbed against Hrgovic is a joke take. Got dropped on a wet floor, with a pull down-rabbit punch and suddenly everybody ignores the numerous rounds in which Zhang did nothing, getting shelled by Hrgovic, disarmed with the long guard.

The bigger joke is that Hern would spend money to corrupt not 1, but all 3 judges. so Hrgovic, that he has been neglecting and sabotaging for years, could pass Zhang.

This is honestly some of the dumbest logic I have ever heard. It is dumb for this place, and that is saying something.

    Fighting a nobody makes him a G?

And far from ruining his career, if he does lose, then all of a sudden the the phone will be ringing of the hook

It is better to stay active instead of just waiting around for a shot at the title. The opponent McKean is not that risky and he picks up another pay check while he awaits his shot.

You make some valid points, but I don't agree w/ all of them.

I agree he's been generally avoided for years. I don't agree that if he's upset, that he can't fight his way back into contention.
You stated Hrgovic is not well liked here b/c he's from the Balkans. The K bros have received more criticism than warranted here for well over a decade. Just recently there have been a few anti K bro topics posted here. That's how much they still trigger many here - for reasons I'm all to familiar with. The world has changed and the HW div. is no longer an exclusive US (and for decades a minority within it) club. That really bothers many. I think it might be more of a general anti Eastern Euro bias. Not by most, but by a fair number here. What do you think?

If Filip gets by McKean, he should get a fight vs. a top 5 HW if not for one or more of the belts. If not, something is wrong. But most agree there's much wrong w/ the business of boxing and especially the HW div.
Case in point how the hell does DD maneuver himself into a major title bout vs. Usyk given his recent fights?? Stopped by JJ; a few wins over solid, but not top 10 HWs; and a nearly upset, roller coaster win over a mediocre Lerena. Go figure.

I like this post. Agree with it.

DD is the WBA regular ... a saga literally over a decade or more ... which may possibly end with an Usyk win.
The trouble with the HW division is Fury and his BS. The unification path is on hold so anyone in line for a shot at
the belt has this impediment in the equation. Fury really does suck. I liked him in the past but I'm completely fed up
with him and hope he gets beaten if/when he eventually takes on someone worthwhile.

BTW: Everything written so far is on the mark IMO but I think Hrgovic should go ahead and fight McKean because if
Hrgovic is top level he should be able to handle McKean. Sure EE fighters find it hard to make waves relative to UK/US
but to cover that they need to fight often and keep their profile up. 2nd/3rd tier UK/US HWs also need to do the same.
Jarad Anderson is getting a lot of press and attention ... basically because he's active. If he waited a year odd between
fights no-one would be bringing his name up.

Not sure what the issue is here. He keeps getting put on high profile undercards so they are giving him the opportunity to shine. Whether we agree or disagree on the Zhang result, no one believe it was an eye-catching performance from Hrgovic (his father's passing is understood). He didn't give Zhang a rematch on what was a controversial result either. However, I do agree that he was ducked by some, but also much of that was how the IBF were structuring the splits and how much his promoters were willing to pay. So Hrgovic wasn't exactly a financially attractive fight for the contenders who had a bigger profile (e.g. Joseph Parker).

But at the end of the day, he will be the first of the 2016 Olympians to get a title shot (and will be on another high-profile undercard)... So, I really don't see the problem, and don't know what more you are expecting from his promoters
