Rocky Marciano. An all time great but his 49-0 has put him into godly status. Can't talk about great heavyweights before someone butts in talking about Rocky.
No fighter pre 1960 barring Ray Robinson is as well known as Rocky at this point.
He has eclipsed Joe Louis, Jack Dempsey and Johnson to a significant degree.

I don't think it's fair to even name names, really. Everyone is overrated and underrated by different parties.

I haven’t seen his name mentioned in a long while, forget he exists sometimes to be honest.

Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather would be my normal picks. Both great fighters but Tyson is not a top 10 heavyweight ever imo and Mayweather is not the goat.

I would add Tyson Fury to that list, beat two good opponents and is hailed by some as the best heavyweight ever. It's madness.

    Riddick Bowe
    Khaosai Galaxy
    Vitali Klitschko

People are saying Mayweather, Ali, Tyson, but i don't agree they all had great careers. People like Bowe, Galaxy, Vitali, are rated very highly with very thin resumes that for me is the definition of overrated.

Mike Tyson by the average casual fan.

Iron Mike. A shocking number of casuals consider him (with the career he had) as one of the greatest fighters of all time. He did have the potential to be but he fell way, way short of what should've been.

What's crazy is that he's both overrated and an underachiever at the same time.

Pretty sure I saw someone ranking Liston ahead of Tyson, Lewis, and Wlad Klitschko. That’s as bad as it gets.

I'd favor Liston to destroy Tyson, and a china chinned Wlad. Lewis and Sonny would be a good fight

Because he beat Floyd Patterson and Cleveland Williams? The resume isn’t there, nor are the pounds and height.

    Skills and style.

    Liston was a great HW.

Most only know him from the Ali fights.
