If you equalize the chins, bowe all day.
However Foremans chin is proven, Bowes is anything but.
Bowe gets knocked out somewhere in the first half while ahead on points.

You think Bowe would get knocked out by great power punchers. But even iron chined boxers get knocked out. It’s up for debate if Bowe could take punches from a boxer like Tyson. I think if he fought prime Tyson he would not be able to take that many clean power shots for to many rounds but that’s just my opinion, not a fact. I don’t think he could take that many hard flush shots from Forman either, especially for 12 rounds. I still think Bowe had an iron chin but my idea of iron chin might be different than yours.

I did not know Golota knocked Bowe down I just remember him going down from low blows. Are your sure? I have not seen the fight since it happened, but I just remember him going down from low blows.

I just think Bowe is untested vs big punchers and that for me is a bit of an asterisks, we know his chin is fairly good. But i'm not sure how his chin would hold up against the upper echelon punchers.

And yeah Bowe got floored twice vs Golota in their 2nd fight in rounds 2 and 5, he actually took 70 punches in round 2 which is a ridiculous amount of punches to take vs a man of that size. He took far too much punishment vs Golota which i'm sure lead to his brain damage unfortunately.

I agree Bowe is somewhat untested against the hardest punchers. So maybe he could withstand Formans power or maybe not. But Bowe had a lot more stamina then Forman, work rate , speed, skill plus he is a bigger man with a longer reach and maybe Forman would not be able to take many hard shots from Bowe also. I think Bowe would be able to get more of his offence going. But it would be a good fight and not easy for the winner.

Yeah but hes not good as Lyle and plus Bowe destroyed Cooper in 2 very one sided rounds, his chin was never tested in that fight. Although it was still a good performance from Bowe regardless.

It seems like I dislike Bowe because I rag on him a bit but it's not the case, I actually enjoy watching him fight at his best. It's just for me he wasn't proven enough against top tier Heavyweights especially punchers, so it's hard for me to really form an opinion on how he does in mythical match ups.

I think based on his size and skills he would do very well, but his lack of defense and the unknown quantity of his durability against real bangers is a question mark.

But if you believe Bowe would win that's fine I'm not trying to change your opinion, it's just for me it's frustrating we didn't get to see more of Bowe against the more known 90s Heavyweights.

Maybe...I don't know, Foreman hit SO hard, and his jab was nearly on a level with Bowe's. Plus, Foreman wouldn't let Bowe get in close much, he was just as good at bullying. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a push down or three during the battle.

I think as soon as Bowe starts planting his feet and using the jab less he'd going to take WAY too many punches, and Foreman certainly punched harder than Lewis (though, if you think about it, Lewis mostly just momentarily stunned him, the ref is the one whom panicked).

Taking too many punches from Foreman means your time is extremely limited.

Foreman in 4 at the very outside.

Close your eyes, imagine a prime pre Zaire 1973 George Foreman in the ring against everyone at that particular time not named Muhammad Ali. Look at what he did to prime Ken Norton, he beat him up like a Rag Doll. Look at what he did to Joe Frazier in Kingston, Jamaica in Jan 1973, that version of George Foreman did not box like the older 1994 Foreman. The prime Foreman was meaner, he had a huge ego, even though Riddick Bowe is taller, George would have shoved him around like a bully trying to mug his victim. George would have staggered him early, then decked him, then would have mauled him into submission by round 2.

I don't know if Foreman CERTAINLY punched harder than Lewis. In fact, I would say a counter argument could be made otherwise.

I doubt Foreman beats a prime Bowe in 2 rounds. Let's not get carried away, here.

Yeah but he is not the ego deflated George Foreman that was kayoed by Muhammad Ali and got decked by Ron Lyle in Jan 1976, the prime George Foreman swung for the fences, he did not box.
