With him and Fury ducking opponents and fighting only 2 times per year, both have sucked the life out of the division and boxing fans.

Cannot believe Fury is not being stripped of his title after this exhibition farce and ducking Usyk.

Usyk should have the chance to fight the number one challenger on the WBC list to make history becoming the first man to hold all 4 belts in the Heavyweight Division.

AJ missing the bit where he hasn't been in an exciting fight since getting chinned by the fat the bloke.

 

Won 4 titles in September 2021. Fought again in August 2022. Now in August 2023. Who might that be? Surely that always-excused inactivity damages the division, but let's blame it on AJ, Fury, the war, some ancient curse, the high temperatures... just something, anything.

The wait between Sept 21 and Aug 22 was because of a rematch clause. Joshua's side were promoting the fight and had the contract.

He's clearly been messed around by Fury.

 

Yes but that does not make it right what Fury and Joshua are doing.

The division sucks and only Usyk has the mindset of a great champion willing to face anyone without wasting his best years.

 

As I said - "always-excused". It wasn't any different between 2018 and 2021.

 

Go on then I’ll bite.

2019 he was due to face Takam in the summer but got injured. Fought a few months later. Frustrating but everyone gets injuries.

2020 was the year of the pandemic. Usyk fought behind closed doors in October. Wilder and Fury didn’t fight for 19 months after the pandemic started.

2021 he was then mandated to face Joshua. Matchroom waited until crowds were allowed (no issue with that) so that fight didn’t happen until September.

2022 he was waiting upon a rematch that his opponents promoter was promoting. Matchroom wanted to give Joshua as much time as possible to bed in with his new trainer.

You really can’t blame Usyk for any of this mess.

 

AJ isn't in any kind of title picture though

He isn't obligated right now to do anything

 

He was exactly the same when he had titles.

Fought twice per year against very poor opponents.
