Severin gets a knockdown in an escalating cluster-**** of a second (both guys also tumble onto the mat in embrace at one point, MMA style).

    20-17 Severin

edit: nope, wait, the ref docked him a point for the bodyslam I guess. So that's a rare 9-8 round. 19-17 overall.

KO3, solar plexus left hook from Severin causes Maidanchuk to go to a knee and ride out the count.

Really classy move from GigaChad here actually, when he sees that Maidanchuk still can't get up after the ref called for the bell he goes over, lifts him up and carries him to his stool. :coleman:

    Aleksei Papin cleans up nice.

In the ring for a faceoff with his next opponent, unbeaten cruiser prospect Soslan Asbarov.

Asbarov is a monster. He won't look too good afterwards.

Kuzmin would be good for prospects coming through. I'd back him to beat some of them too.

If you're curious who this random Mexican lata de tomate with the basura 8-5 record is, he's actually on something of a hot streak the last nine months. "Bom-Bom" stopped Junlong "Dragon King" Zhang and took his zero in a major upset last October, and then held Ruslan Fayfer to a SD in March.

That said, Kuzmin's team picked him for a reason so this ought to be a quick squash.

Kuzmin has 6cm on García per the tale-of-the-tape graphic but not sure if that's height or reach. Both would track visually.

    Round 1

García is floating to his left, keeping a wary distance and unrolling a left jab to check and intercept Kuzmin's. García in a lean-away posture, his upper body past the waist bent in retreat and chin tucked. Kuzmin stalking, moving in cautiously and squatting to fire long jabs at the midsection. Very uneventful introductory frame. Kuzmin nails García with a 1-2 in the last five seconds.

10-9 Kuzmin but kind of a nothingburger.

    Round 2

García is planting his flag in ring center, throwing high straight flurries to claim it. Kuzmin plods around him counter-clockwise, left arm carried low by his side, right fist held loosely a few inches below his chin in case he needs to lift it to block in a very relaxed posture. García throws a right on the body and Kuzmin skips lightly away, tits jiggling, pretty agile for such a big and untoned guy. García tries a lunging left hook but Kuzmin is dancing beyond reach. Kuzmin with pot shot body jabs from outside. Kuzmin slips and blips, dodging a García right hand and feeding him two more jabs before a clinch. Pressure from Kuzmin down the stretch, with García firing both hands to pry him off but getting smothered.

    10-9 Kuzmin

    20-18 Kuzmin

Considering how high both their KO percentages are, I really hope this does heat up eventually. Eight more rounds of what it's been thus far isn't my ideal Thursday afternoon. :sisi1

Nope, not up on BoxRec yet obviously since they just announced it but I've been scouring Google and Twitter for both their names in Cyrillic but nothing firm yet that I can find. (just some articles dating to last year about both saying they want the fight in Russian media)

    Round 3

Kuzmin pawing jabs, García caught transfixed in a defensive lull for the most part. Ugliest and most boring round yet, the most noteworthy moments were accidental fouls when both exchanged shots (shoving down, elbows on the corner of García's eye socket) but Kuzmin showing a bit more activity with the rear power hand, scoring a couple of flush rights. Sign of things to come perhaps.

    30-27 Kuzmin
