It's inevitable surely that he's gonna be fired or contract not renewed soon. He's done a terrible job.

If they’re only giving the rights to one person then Mick Hennessy although I think Kalle and his personality would be successful on Sky.

Sky are not looking for a boxing promoter they’re looking for Eddie Hearn II

Would be great but it means you end up with no fights. Let’s say for arguments sake Hennessy has Josh Warrington and Sauerland has Leigh Wood neither would give the other one that fight on their date. Both would want to get on Sky and need headliners of which there are only so many.

so you would get Wood in routine defence and Warrington in routine fight. Only way said fight then gets made is via PPV.

wish it didn’t work that way. But promoters are going to protect their assets and fighters that allow them to pick up the rights fees from Sky

    True.

I think Kalle fits the role. Interesting personality, will sell a fight well and has good contacts.

I think Sky should have common sense and realise that thanks to other platforms getting involved, there just isn’t enough boxing going around to reach the sort of quality they’ve had in the past.

They could take a step back and use their platform to promote all boxing - TNT, DAZN, Five, etc - and throw in the odd special on particular fighters. Some day another platform will disappear or lose interest and they can make a big splash again,

Anything else is just diluted just now and not worthy of the reach they can give it.

I'd put Kevin Maree on that list.
If you look at the amount of fighters on Sky shows that are managed/promoted by small hall promoters I.e Steffy, Steve Woods then Kevin has more fighters either as support or contracted to Boxxer than anyone. He has the SMW div domestically locked. Callum Simpson, Jeffers, Heffron, and up until recently Chelli were all managed by Kevin.
Steffy and Steve Woods seem to feed their fighters up into MR and Dazn more than boxxer/Sky.
Kevin Maree or Sreve Woods would be the best guys to pick up that contract should Boxxer fail which i don't think it will.
Shalom might lose his place but I think they will find a new public face and move Shalom to a more behind the scene position.
