I am the only person here being reasonable. My view, as stated, is that Lewis was an excellent heavyweight - historic. But his two marquee wins were against past it fighters, both of whom he outsized enormously and one of which was a blown up cruiserweight. The Klitschko "win" doesn't say much because it was stopped on a technicality by a punch that missed its mark (and have posted a time stamped video for all of you fanboys who can't handle that truth). Joshua isn't a great heavyweight (yet), but he's more loved and is more exciting than the boring Lewis. That's all I'm saying, but YDKSAB and didn't start watching it until the 2000's.
The same exiting AJ who has only had one stoppage win in his last 6 fights. The same AJ who seems terrified to exchange any punches. Lewis wasn’t boring but a great boxer puncher. AJ doesn’t have one thing in his arsenal that tops Lewis imo.
Joshua is a good British Level/European fighter well managed to a World Title similar to his mate Tony Bellew. Yes he will bash up very limited opponents such as Dillian Whyte, Matt Skelton, Michael Sprott, Gary Cornish, Pulev, Martin, Parker etc. Charisma non existent. Persona is fake humble. Excitement in the ring - seen nothing against Usyk in 24 rounds or Franklin. Comedy - plenty of that on 1 June 2019 in New York. Era - very poor. Comparing Joshua to Lennox Lewis is like comparing Salford City to Manchester Utd - there are many levels between them. Accept and move on.
Dude, calm down! lol It's just a hypothetical match. Could Rahman or McCall be compared with Lewis? In terms of career, no, but look what happened. That's the whole point. Joshua could beat Lewis, for sure.
He would beat Lewis in 1 out of 20 fights, before Ruiz exposed him and that figure now is 1 in 100 fights.
Don't dislike anyone. The mug public were sold a pup in and out of the ring by the world class salesman Mr. E. Hearn. Never understoood the hype in and out of the ring based on what I was watching with my own eyes.
Depends on what Lewis shows up. If Lennox comes out fast then Joshy is doomed. If the Lennox shows up who got mowed down by someone who cried in the ring in their rematch, Joshy puts his lights out. Lennox went life and death with a Balkan nobody in his prime. Joshy would have demolished a chap like that. Lennox is probably the best heavy ever. But he had a knack of losing fights he shouldn't have lost and was caught slacking for certain fights.
One things for sure it would be edge of seat stuff between the two big men who can punch. Lean toward Joshua as always thought he is more talented then Lewis but more vulnerable
