I don't see why your panties are in a twist. Sounds to me like Inoue's confident enough to do whatever it takes to ensure the fight goes through.

It's one thing to agree to not tape his hands, it's another for him to "choose" use a softer glove. I mean, lets face it, all this could significantly increase Fulton's chances of surviving.

Inoue has 21 KOs. 20 have come with Winning gloves. Actually, I think he wore Grants in the Dasmarinas fight. 1 was with Cleto-Reyes. So maybe Winning gloves are just more comfortable to him.

My only thing is if Inoue stops knocking out fighters because every fighter he now fights in the future brings up wrap concerns whats going to be your excuse for it.. "He couldn't carry up his power, what cant you understand"?

In Inoue's fights, the gloves he used were very small and tight. And you can tell that his gloves were like an extension of his fist. Perhaps due to the taping of the hands and the way the gloves fit over the hand wraps. Now he's using loose gloves with more padding. This could drastically change his punch style. Now if he still knocks out Fulton then it'll seem like a big nothing burger. But if he can't hurt Fulton then obvioiusly this has the potential to be a massive storyline. Fulton at this point must feel better about his chances, he and his team has to feel that Inoue's ability to hurt or KO him have been drastically reduced. Whether or not that will play out in the ring is anyone's guess, but all this has to help Fulton's confident going into this.

    Yes. Isn't that frightening?

And he's got a nearly 50% KO rate in the amateurs with headgear and pillows.

    :naughty2:

Interesting. You gotta credit Inoue for that, he could have made a big fuss about it.

The winning gloves he uses, the black ones, don't look soft. They look pretty tight and hard. They're not long that look like they have a lot of soft padding or anything.

You made it seem like he chose to not wear his normal gloves and decided to wear a softer "pillow-like" glove (winning) when he's been using winning, so it's the same gloves as what he always wears. :eusa_doh:

122 is Inoue's fifth weight division and the guys are much bigger, so a drop in KOs would be logical. One of the continuing themes of conversation is whether Inoue's power will carry up. That applies to every single fighter moving up in weight.

I guess, it's a little weird for him to do that if in fact it's legal. What I'm trying to find out is how many other fighters (in America, UK, or anywhere) actually wrap their hands that way, with tape applied to the glove. Has there been any high profile fights (ever) where we can confirm that other fighters have applied tape directly to the hands like Inoue did?

And what about the claim that it was Donaire who wraps his hands that way and he got Inoue to wrap his hands that way? Is there any truth to that? (some have said this) If that's true then Inoue is being told by his last 2 opponents how to wrap his hands. Which is mind boggling if true.
