1. Moses Itauma (only 18!!!) 2. Ben Whittaker (26) 3. Adam Azim (just turned 21 last week) Do you guys agree or disagree? I feel like these 3 are the ones who have the most potential to take over british boxing and become big names in the sport. All of them have great skills in the ring, Ben Whittaker specifically is a really good entertainer and talker as well but I unfortunately can't say the same for Itauma and Azim (outside the ring.) However, Itauma is a heavyweight which generally gets more people watching and Azim is in the most stacked division in boxing especially with all the lightweights moving up so there's lots of great fights to be made. I personally think he smokes Dalton Smith too.
@Boris Wang disagree Pat Mccormack and Peter McGrail are the best prospects in the country, & I'd put Ben Whittaker at third. (Honoury mentions: Royston Barney-Smith, Sam Noakes)
Whittaker will get opportunities on his selling power alone, but as mentioned McCormack is the one to watch. Shame he isn't younger and has a decent trainer though
Just looked at Moses amateur records on boxrec. He beat an awful lot of people making they’re debut, is that normal?
boxrec amateur records nowhere near up to date and proper like pro records. It's often wrong like that
It's got to be Yafai, hard to believe hes already headlining a "next gen" card in Birmingham in August, what an unbelievable future awaits for this kid (31 years old). Such a raw but incredible young talent (born 1992).just imagine where he could be in 10-15 years with the right development
the significant amateur tournaments are all complete, i.e. olympics and worlds, and major national tournaments. a pet hate is commentators calling someone a “great amateur” because they were semifinalists in the Upper North-West Under 14s Championship for Boxers Whose Name Starts With a P
