I reckon Inoue has entered SRR pound for pound territory

Better than Pac in my opinion, with instant natural KO power in both hands, fantastic body puncher, solid chin and able to fight through orbital and nose fractures, technically a master boxer and a very mean streak.

Even SRR didn't have that kind of power.

He demolished Fulton, a naturally bigger man, with barely a scratch on his face.

Going through the weights and their champions with the same devastating effects.

He looks unstoppable to me.

According to my count Inoue has ten wins over Ring rated opponents at the time of the fight. SRR had over 40. And he beat undisputed champions from LW to MW, which would be five weight classes today. Being unbeaten in some 90 fights isn't too shabby either.

So in terms of resume it's not close and likely never will be. But if Inoue continues like this and carries it up further weight classes, he might get the RJJ argument. That he simply looks so good that he's the best, even though he never will match the old timers numbers.

What he lacks is the names, though. Donaire was past his best and gave him a very tough fight the first time. Fulton, yes, but he's not a name on that level. Davies or Loma at 130 would be quite sensational wins, though. But otherwise his resume risks being devoid of those really big names.

 

Puttin him over Pac at this point is as a joke. Let alone comparing him to SRR. These threads keep getting weirder.

Barrera & Morales 126lb or below would beat Inoue

Inoue is pound for pound today, but to try and compare him with the likes of SRR he would need to get upto 130 and win something. If he wants to be in the conversation with Pacquiao then he better go upto 140 atleast. But he will get destroyed if he tries it

 

He has a better KO ratio than SRR at the same age.
His oponnents have far better win/loss ratio than SRR.
The Donaire fight should have been a KO win if the referee didn't screw up. In the second bout, Donaire said he had never been hit harder in his life.
And i'm not sure but i don't believe Inoue has ever been dropped while SRR was many times even in his prime.

 

Barrera & Morales for me would lose to Inoue below 126lb.

 

In 4 tries, Pac could never beat decisively Marquez. He even was KO'd by him at almost 40 !

Manny was always an one handed fighter. Inoue has equal power in both hands, and is a better thinking boxer.

 

Pac doesn't have kis KO power.

 

Very impressive fighter, skilled, pugilistic and good IQ, but, he has a long way to go yet.

 

I get the hyperbole he looks like he has almost everything and yeah he's technically better than Pac and has tools Pac didn't have. But Pac had more than just text book technique, he had that crazy work rate, that incredibly ability to cut distance in a flash which had JMM down 3 times in rd 1, those crazy power combinations and that ability to learn from every loss and improve.

Inoue isn't anywhere near the level of Pac or SRR or Duran or Mayweather or any of those upper echelon ATG's. Could he one day be amongst them, maybe but he needs to prove it vs better name opposition than he has faced to date. What those fighters achieved wasn't just special it was almost unique and Inoue has a lot more to prove before he should even be mentioned among such phenoms.

 

Maybe Barrera, but the Morales in the 1st Pacquiao fight kills Inoue
