Fulton just didn't have an answer once he realised he was being out boxed. Credit to him that he then switched tactics and tried to press Inoue but with Inoue being a lethal counter puncher with both hands to head and body he was just left in mid range too scared to throw. So yeah it looked like he'd forgotten how to box, because everything he had learned had never prepared him for anything like Inoue. I feel kind of sorry for fighters who face Inoue, I mean how do you deal with an opponent who you can't out box because of that jab, speed, movement and variety but who will also KO you if you try and amount any type of offence. Nobody is beating him at 126 or below, it's going to take someone with a significant size advantage to pick him off from the outside and out box him.
I think Inoue would be favored against prime Donaire and Rigo. Those are the most recent fighters who even stand a remote chance at 122 and below. I do not think guys like Estrada, Gonzalez are big enough to beat Inoue. Get crushed IMO. I think you would have to go back to Erik Morales to find a fighter who might be favored to beat Inoue at 122 and below.
The same people who were ''only hyping Inoue because he's Japanese''? No, we were hyping him because he's an absolutely fantastic fighter
When did racism and xenophobia take over American boxing? I stopped following it a decade ago and now I see a new kind of group think I'm not recognizing, and such thoughts are being repeated over and over again, YouTube filled with it. In this this case (not claiming exclusivity) many of the African American community who built Fulton up as this high-end, slick, untouchable, super-adaptable juggernaut (which to a point is true) and threw false accusations at Inoue, disrespecting his P4P status, legendary sportsmanship, clean operation, legal wraps and elite skills. And when Fulton got the same treatment, something was wrong with him, weight or "something in Japan" as if he was drugged, disregarding the foreign Asian champion's superior speed, ring IQ, power & skill level. In a healthy conversation the fight should've opened remaining shut eyes to Inoue's greatness but not an ounce of credit was given as if he's not even a human being let alone a ppl. of color, but racist comments such as anyone putting him to P4P#1 is against black ppl. Like Inoue is part of some conspiracy. America is not mentally well and it's sad to see that this level of delusion and erratic thinking is coming from many actually recognized names in boxing honesty. They believe all this. And now the new suggestion is for Inoue to jump 3 divisions after winning a title in his 4th and prove himself vs. Gervona that he's legit?
It's very disappointing. There were so many people in boxing picking Fulton and still refuses to give Inoue credit. All the predictions are still up on Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. After Inoue knocked out Fulton, a lot of people are still silent and the ones that are speaking up are making all kinds of excuses. And then there were many people asking Inoue to move up to 3 divisions to fight a much bigger fighter in Davis and that is just weird. I didn't see anyone asking Davis to move up to fight Tim Tszyu when he beat Ryan Garcia. As if that's the only way to prove Inoue's legitimacy. Fulton was the best guy at 122. The best fight that Inoue could have taken and he proved why he is the best fighter in the world.
Where's this inferiority complex coming from and why so dominated by emotions? OK to bet on elite Fulton so long you admit the other one is a genuine ATG which is more respectful to BOTH than "Fulton was supposed to win but something went wrong". They already put Fulton on the spot with false accusations that angered Inoue to put on even more punishment, then silence with no apology or respect given, only YOU are racist if you rank some Asian above our black fighters? What?
A terrified miscalculation was just that and the 1st round made him realize DANGER Jaron booty Ennis Sr was even disrespectful by saying whatever his 'inoues' name is before n now look bawawahhaaa
