Benn fails drug test

I like your updates but don't try to defend Benn. Benn is a PED abuser, who got caught and has used MR lobbyists to climb down from it. He is a terribly limited boxer who has abused PEDS post-Pernaud to fake a career. He will never be respected now and is as guilty as sin. I know PED abuse personally, he was using that compound to mask his anabolic abuse. End of.

and we mythologise Benn Sr, he abused E, coke and phet recreationally during his career, and his entourage were steroid dealers (amongst other things), he was bang on PEDs himself. Apple, fall, distance, tree.

Is this really the end of this disgraceful saga? Or is it just another step along the way?

Is Benn now in the clear only because he has completed a 12 month suspension backdated to his July 25th positive test?

Has he escaped penalty on the basis of a technicality?

Did UKAD simply cave in under a legal threat, the size of which risked their very existence?

The system is almost as ugly as the outcome. Where is the transparency?

 

The thing is, this entire sorry saga hasn't even been hidden away in backrooms, it's been played out, on social media, for all to see.

Anyone with half a brain cell can see what the truth is, yet there is very little outrage, bar on these boards, which I guess says it all.


Only should the worst happen, with a fighter on PEDS, may there be a reckoning, especially when a fallen fighters family refuse to be silenced, in many ways, it's particularly fortunate a massively weight drained CEJ didn't actually fight Benn.


Because then this might have had a much more tragic ending.

First, I'm not having a go at you on this, as personally I have tried to stay away from this thread.

But no, Fury most definitely did not receive the same level of anger and hate as Benn is receiving.

I was curious how the board felt so I just did a quick search of titles including "Tyson" + "UKAD". Then, a quick scan of comments.
Top excuses:

• Everyone is on it so no big deal
• Look at the state of Joshua's physique
• So what if he refused a test after already failing one? I wouldn't want to be woke up whenever and having to pee in a cup 24-7 either.
• Refusing a test doesn't mean he would have failed it.
• UKAD are corrupt
• They just don't like gypsies
• The ban started after Klitschko fight, so nothing to see here.
• And on and on it goes

Most of these threads didn't hit 10 pages. And that's for the World Heavyweight Champion. The main guy in the sport!

Compare, 315 pages of people pissed off at Benn, escalating to the point of wishing injury on him.

It's not comparable. There is no reason for people to be this angry at one fighter.

Wind your neck in. He clearly hasn't been cleared by UKAD. Did you not see their statement? Somebody fails 2 tests don't we have the right to know why the NADP arrived at their decision

 

The only silver lining is that Benn isn't that good so he will come a cropper very shortly.

DCMS need to fund UKAD properly moving forward
