I knew Crawford would beat the current Spence, quite easily - I wasn't expecting Spence to be this bad though. I think Crawford would still beat the pre accident Spence. If it was Crawford vs Pre Accident Spence, I think Spence would win a lot of early rounds and then in classic Crawford style, he would work Spence out and dominate the mid and late rounds. It wouldn't have been a knockout - pre accident Spence was too dangerous to come in on. It's such a shame such an important fight was one sided. I'm a big fan of Crawford, watch his fights, it's a strange feeling that the most important fight of his career happened in such an easy way. Crawford left the fight unscathed.
Had no effect. Crawford's sharpshooting was just too much to deal with and Spence was trying to fight Bud's fight the entire night.
If Crawford wanted, he could KO Spence in 30 seconds. The same was with Garcia and Ugas, but the fix in these was different. It's so obvious Spence is an unhealthy man
Crawford is a special talent. Generational. Spence is still good but the result would always have been the same.
I think Spence's alcoholism was a bigger factor, he's a notorious alcoholic and it broke down his body, same thing happened to McGregor. Wouldn't be surprised if he took a couple shots of tequila before the fight.
No. It didn't help, but Spence's one-dimensional, couldn't-stop-Mikey-Garcia style was always going to get slapped around by Crawford. Always.
No affect man, Crawford is just levels..... He beat Garcia and Ugas the same after like he would've before.....so we can't bring it now 4 years later.
It may have been a factor but even when you look at a pre-accident Spence, the handspeed difference is still pronounced.
When I saw Errol go down in the second I genuinely thought that the crash had left him chinless. But as the rest of the rounds progressed it became clear that his chin wasn't really the issue, Crawford was just alot better. He wasn't getting badly rocked with every shot he was just getting caught alot with alot of big shots. The things he was trying to do that had worked for him his entire career were not working for him now. This would've happened no matter when the fight happened imo.
I know some say he hasn't looked the same since the car accident, but for me he looked pretty much as he always did, maybe a bit rusty in the first fight and yeah Ugas caught him with some good shots but it's not like he hadn't looked beatable before vs Porter and even Brook. Reality is Spence was never as good as his fans touted him to be and Crawford was always a special fighter who they avoided for as long as they could. Pre car crash Spence still gets stopped, his style never matched up well against Crawford, an aggressive fighter vs a lethal counter puncher? That's got bad news written all over it for Spence, walking into counters and then doubling down when struggling was always going to be how the fight played out.
I’ve been saying it all this build up, especially during these final press conferences and weigh-in, Spence just looks off, and was slurring more than usual. With that being said, I’ve been Team Bud since the Prescott fight, so pre-accident Spence might be a bit more competitive, but Bud is just too good. Even the weight isn’t an issue. Crawford looked huge next to Spence at the weigh-in. Spence actually looked a bit soft to me.
Spence was not at his best (although I think lifestyle might have as much to do with it as the car crash) but even at his best he can't beat Crawford of tonight. The hungry focused Spence e.g. who fought Brook might be competitive for a while but that's it.
