I think most people were expecting a more competitive fight, I know I did and I picked Crawford to KO him in the 10th. I at least expected Spence to win the first 2-3 rounds as Crawford did his usual reconnaissance and then start to take over gradually in the middle rounds and by the 8th start looking to take him out. But instead we got Crawford in control from the get go. So yeah it was kind of anti climatic but those like me who has always favoured Crawford and seen Spence as merely a very good fighter who was overrated to the point he was seen as top 5 P4P, it was very satisfying to watch.
Hes not p4p. He cuts at least 30lbs to fight at a division. P4P isn't weight grifting. Nor is it even real .. Usyk would batter Crawford in REALITY. Spence was an over hyped american bum who barely beat Porter. Hes done nothing in his career for a smaller weight fighter.
It wasn't. Spence was in it for one round or until they started throwing punches, lol. It was high quality boxing. The nuances and skill was great. Spence thought he could just plow forward and throw but was met with boxing intelligence and precision punishment.
Wonder why the need to downplay Crawfords win. Nobody foresaw what effect Crawfords punches were going to have. Spence never looked as fragile as that, he couldn't handle any of the power shots, even the less weighty shots were doing damage.
Listen, people keep trying to tell me who these people are. But I don't even know these guys so why should I even care?
I think that Spence's poor performances in this fight not only surprised you and me but they surprised most boxing fans around the world as well. We all expected to see the competitive fight but it turned out to be the mismatch instead. Spence didn't win a round in this fight so how could this happen? Spence was the 3 world championship belts holder at 147. I was so disappointed in him even if I predicted that Bud is going to beat him.
What makes Spence better than Fulton or Donaire? His career is based off of beating smaller guys for the most part.
That's how he got brook And he didn't mind validating it as a legit win no damage or weight ballooning did nothing to effect brook being his best Eroll just caught a taste of his own He left the fight to long and should have moved up sooner It's on Spence I'm afraid #mangotdowned
Yeah, he's big. So most fighters who are big...base their careers off of mostly smaller fighters. But if a smaller fighter is the quality fighter and the one that shows up, then that's what you got. And if they're quality, they will try to use your advantage against you with strategy. If they fail to do that, that's not on the other guy for simply existing as the bigger man. In my home country, just as a for instance, if someone wants to competitively race on feet, and they are above six feet in inches of heightedness, we tell them that they can race the rest of us, sure, but only if we do like that Pistorious guy and adjust themselves downward to where we are. Is that fair? I say it is. Because they're the ones who did that, probably with eating a bolus of protein daily that we did not have the privilege of having in our growthing years, Maidanas. But that is in them if they want to compete in OUR SPORT. Spence is the same, so that is why they still make him weigh in at the same weight as guys like Crawdadfordt.
