But he was correct, that's exactly what strict liability is and how it has always been applied in every other sport......but surprise surprise normal rules don't count in boxing it appears. As all the neutrals and general sports fans keep saying - 'Joke sport' ,I can no longer disagree with that comment / hashtag sadly
Get caught doing something you shouldn't have = play the victim, I have a mental health problem rather than take any ownership or responsibility for the mess you have created. I totally understand mental health problems and deeply sympathise with anybody who is genuinely suffering. However, I am also aware (as are most these days) of people hijacking mental health as an excuse to cover doing something they shouldn't have / poor performance / criminal acts etc. It seems to have really taken off this last few years and it needs stamping out as it is devaluing it for real sufferers who genuinely need access to the limited care resources available.
Our Tony has spoken This content is protected Just the rest of the comments and his responses, unintentional comedy gold as usual.
So effectively Tony, its anybody caught using performance enhancing drugs should be banned for life - unless they are promoted by matchroom.......sounds perfectly fair, glad you've cleared that one up for us. One day University lecturers will use this clown as a sociology case study. Let me guess Tone, VADA which didn't count a few months ago now counts again, got it
The amount of money this whole saga has lost Matchroom and team Benn means one thing, a full on PR assault. "Poor Conor" "butter wouldn't melt in his mouth". It will be a 24/7 campaign to make us all believe he is the new Nelson Mandela. Unfortunately, the Matchroom shills like Tony will be inundating us with his hypocritical nonsense from now on.
But whatever you do, don't question this 'kid' (turns 28 next year), got to think about his 'mental elf, innit'
Take your fights else where Britain ain't intrested At this point Pending on how much cash you have backing you You can use Its ****ing sickening
A dark, dark day for the safety of fighters in this country as the NADP ruling makes VADA tests worthless in the UK. Benn got off on a jurisdictional loophole, which means that only UKAD tests are relevant in this country now.
I think that should read "which means that only UKAD tests are relevant in this country for now" I reckon the next move will for UKAD to be relieved of its responsibility for UK boxing, and for "UK boxing" to take it in-house, like happened with British Cycling I think. Whether that be the outfit EH has now switched to (Drug Free Sport ??) or another body set up by "UK boxing" I dunno.
If you have deep pockets, you can pretty much buy your way out of anything with the right team around you
The sport now needs the government to step in. From a health and safety perspective all work places & professions should be governed to provide safeguarding for employees. If the sport can't govern itself then it needs overhauling and a certain strict criteria to be met.no questions.no loopholes. What's your view on multiple failed tests in a sport where clean fighters can be killed in the ring?
