Why are people now saying Crawford is greater than Mayweather?

You need to do your research, then you might stop making assumptions and bogus statements.

 

Does seem like a ridiculous comparison given their resumes are not even close. I mean after the Spence win people were saying on here it was like a Mayweather vs Corrales level performance, so Crawford has just put on a performance on par with Mayweather first great performance and that makes him on the level of Mayweather if not better, as if everything he achieved after that was meaningless? That's ludicrous, that's like saying Inoue beating Fulton was like Pac moving up and beating Barrera and so now he's greater than Pacquiao.

 

His resume isnt but hes the more skilled fighter.

 

Both of prime Floyd and prime Pea would make Bud look very ordinary.

 

The Spence win is better than any Mayweather win.

 

I fully agree about greatness (per the thread title) and about their resumes. It's not even comparable.

But, just thinking purely h2h, don't you think a really big man (Crawford) might beat an all time great smaller man (Floyd)? 147 Floyd was not at his best, Crawford is honestly a lot bigger than Floyd and that reach and power advantage will be a problem. Crawford would be 170+ in the ring and Floyd in the 150s.

Your analysis is so often absolutely spot on, so would be very interested to hear your take on the h2h matchup.

 

After considerable thought, I believe PBF is better than Crawford but this is a match that Floyd would avoid. Contrary to your statement Floyd should not be in the discussion for one of the greatest boxers. Floyd ducked anyone who could possibly defeat him and put onerous conditions on his opponents. Thanks to Floyd, we have boxers all avoiding the probability of a defeat and A sides putting ridiculous conditions on opponents.

Crawford would be very competitive in a great fight but he doesn't beat Floyd in his pomp at 147.

 

Lol by beat up you mean he gave a good account of himself and gave a 36 year old Floyd that wasn't long out of a jail cell some good work...

Floyd had the better career, and it's not close.

Floyd became a world champion at 20, in his 18th pro fight. Crawford didn't win his first world title until he was 26, in his 23rd pro fight. Floyd was a 3 weight world champion by the time he was 28.

If Floyd and Crawford existed in the same space today Floyd would find every excuse under the sun to hide and duck from Crawford. If he was backed into a corner, he would just go into another one of his fake retirements and wouldn't show his face unless Crawford aged out or retired himself. Bud is too dangerous to meet Floyd's low risk / high reward requirements.

 

Hes obviously not close to Floyd legacy or all time ranking but he solidly beats Floyd at 147. Anyone thinking otherwise is just delusional at this point. Floyd was very good but hardly a world-beater at 147 like he was at 130. Most of Floyd comp @ 147 were past prime or flatout mid competition and he hardly had decimations against most of em either.

H2H Bud beats Floyd 140 or 147 CLEAR.

 

What has resumes got to do with peoples opinion or thoughts about who would win in a fight?
People are just spit balling what they think, it doesn't make anything true 100% does it?
