Wherever you fall in this debate, we can all agree that Matchroom were disingenuous at best when stating that UKAD cleared Benn.

For that reason alone, UKAD must appeal. Even if its ultimately frivolous, this misdirection/slight of hand by the Matchroom PR machine can not be allowed to succeed uninterrupted.

Yes, agreed here. Just a PR move by Benn and Matchroom to control the narrative.

Not everybody bit: The Times' headline "Conor Benn claims he has been cleared by UK Anti-Doping" was imho spot on.

Fact remains that he voluntarily rescinded his BBBofC licence. Until he is licensed he can't compete again in the UK, unless he decides to go down the foreign boxer route. No idea whether licensing will be a formality or whether the Board have grounds to refuse. Guess it'll depend on exactly what the UKAD findings were.

Would be funny if the BBofBC dragged their heals when it comes to reinstating his licence. Say, 12 months?

Benn, Hearn, Bellew, Matchroom etc are utterly shameless.

Benn is the worst individual I’ve ever seen following boxing. You’d think he’d keep his head down after being ‘cleared’ (or cleared in Matchroom terms anyway) but the first thing he does is bring the Matchroom film crew to his house and start calling out retired fighters again, saying he’s going to give bad beatings to this person and this person. I don’t wish damage on any fighter but I hope he gets badly knocked out in his next fight.

As for Hearn, he’s a narcissistic scumbag. Getting the cameras to film him ringing Benn and shouting ‘let’s ****ing go’ after Benn has spent half a million on lawyers and scientists to get him off on a technicality. I’ve mentioned it on here loads but the fake tears when Patrick Day died months after getting Whyte in the ring with a secret failed drug test days before - and now all this with Benn - sum him up. He doesn’t care about fighters, he cares about money. When he promoted Daniel Jacobs he actually moved the Chavez Jr fight to another state to get around drug testing rules as Chavez was refusing to be tested. He put his own fighter in with someone who was refusing to do drug tests as he didn’t want to lose out on a few quid. A man who would sell his own grandma to get further in life.

Bellew is an absolute weirdo. Mr BAN ALL PED CHEATS FOR LIFE!!! has changed the criteria to ‘only ban fighters that I’m not mates with’. I hope a non-Matchroom fighter fails a test soon so we can see what a squirmy hypocrite Bellew is. One of the reasons I unsubscribed from DAZN is because I can’t be doing with listening to his stupid fat mouth churn out insufferable bollocks every time he opens it.

They've managed to get off on jurisdiction.

They've then spouted bollocks about him being cleared knowing legally the board and ukad can't correct them anytime soon

That it goes through due process. If the NADP found Benn guilty of using PEDS they would be credible but because they didn’t the narrative is they are not fit for purpose. They don’t become not fit for purpose if the result isn’t what one wants.

For those who now say no credibility you do know this would apply to every decision they made so any athletes they found guilty of PED have the same right to question there verdicts.

I don’t know enough about What Benns defence were saying regarding levels and why he failed the tests but th NADP must understand it.

firstly I need to actually know why they came to such a conclusion rather than just accuse them of not doing there job

It's a totally trustworthy sport full of honest, good natured people who care about sportsmanship and honesty far more than money. I'm sure you are correct. Case closed Mr Bellew

Trustworthiness cuts both ways. If decisions like this simply come down to money then why would you want anyone to go through such a process as you are implying the ones deciding innonce or guilt cannot be trusted.

So both UKAD and BBBofC have effectively been gagged but Benn and Matchroom are free to speak even though they are clearly lying on UKAD's name.

I don't understand how it isn't blanket silence until the whole thing is fully concluded.

Can you point me to any evidence that the NADP hearing addressed any of the drug/medical issues ?
