You have an incredible knack for proving the opponent's point with every reply. Somehow the only fight that counts in the trilogy is the one Frazier won, even though Ali was older and more shopworn in the following 2 matches.

Donald cannot even be mentioned in the same sentence as the greatest. The closest opponents were Byrd and Lewis and he ducked Haye, those were the 3 guys with the quickest hands and the only ones with some semblance of defense in Vitali's era operating behind a jab.

Byrd and Lewis couldn’t match the Ali impersonation produced by Odlanier Solis against Vitali.

And I guess we’re pretending Bugner was the same as Vitali.

No one said anything about Bugner. Perhaps you need to get treated for schizophrenia and ADHD because you keep bringing up things no one mentioned and change the topic every other post.

It’s a two way street. 1975 Ali didn’t exactly prove that he could outbox Vitali.

The discussion was about the Ali who beat Foreman, which was 1974. He definitely had enough in the tank to outbox Vitali who was incredibly repetitive. Go watch the Briggs fight, Ali would get used to the timing, range, and pattern of him spamming the same 1-2's and flurries the exact same way over and over. That's the reason Vitali couldn't KO Briggs.

Vitali would have done better v Wlad than Haye did.

Vitali fought guys like Gomez and Adamek who possessed skills they weren't all primitive sluggers. If he was so repetitive why weren't they able to take advantage of it.

Vitali was like 40 for that fight. His greatness blinds your ability to assess him.

The thread isn't wlad vs vitali. Why do you always post irrelevant things Mark?

And yet he still violated Vitali.

Adamek was a glass jawed light heavy.

That's how he fought all the time. He had 1 gear and not a lot of variety.

Foreman wouldn't beat Lewis but he'd be 50/50 against Holmes.

Violated? Lewis was losing until he cut Vitali, the fight was stopped on a cut.

Yes, violated. Lewis violated Vitali's face and produced the cut with his punches. You are acting as if the cut was caused by a gust of wind or Vitali tripping over his stool. Vitali's face needed more stitches than the average car wreck survivor.

So you think cutting someone with a punch is some kind of big thing? It was just a cut that bled too much, big deal, what the hell does that mean?
