Who wins this match-up at welterweight? Remember that maidana gave floyd one of his toughest fight and you can make an argument that he won 7-5 the first time around. I find it hard to believe that crawford would be able to easily deal with his style of fighting if floyd struggled. Even if he manages to win, I feel like it wont be through KO/TKO like he has done to all his opponents at 147.

Maidana gave Floyd a tougher fight than anyone ever anticipated, so I'd say with confidence that the Maidana who fought Floyd in the 1st fight would trouble Crawford as well. Still think Bud beats him though, maybe even stops him late.

Floyd was washed when he fought maidana.

Contrary to belief he didnt outbox maidana the second fight, he literally ran the wntire fight. He looked awful and scared

Don't you guys remember that even chinny, pillow-fisted Amir Khan was able to knock down Maidana? Floyd, in that period of time, already had lots of wear and tear due to the many championship caliber fights he was in and he was still able to expose Maidana. I think Maidana is a decent fighter but Crawford would take him to deep waters and drown him in the late rounds.

I think Bud wins comfortably but Maidana makes it a war and has some success. Maidana not getting stopped though.

this is a sensible answer. What makes people think Crawford is gonna TKO/KO this guy when he’s never been knocked out and gave Floyd his hardest fight

I think because lesser fighters than Crawford were able to knock him down, like Ortiz and Khan to the body. Those guys are not the type of finisher that Crawford is. If he hurts you he's going to finish you.

He's been knocked down but never looked in danger of being stopped. He got schooled by Alexander so a dominant Crawford win would not be too unlikely but I think Maidana would have at least made it somewhat competitive.

you make a good point but that was 2009-2010 maidana. 2013-2014 maidana was different

He was different but he still can be put down the same way. Crawford is a great finisher, if he hurts Maidana he's going for the kill.

Because Crawford is not only bigger and stronger than Floyd, but hits very hard, ontop of being a very precise puncher/counter-puncher, VS a Maidana that takes a lot of risks with his assault. Good likelihood of a Bodyshot KO.

Maidana is a tough SOB. He doesn't have the skills to beat Bud but I can see the man going the distance and making Crawford work for it.
