October twenty-eighth in Riyadh. Ten round non-title bout. Fury will not be making a fifth defense of the WBC heavyweight title, but this is an official sanctioned pro fight (thus counting on records) and not an exhibition.

This is the kind of thread this forum deserves

I'll be paying more attention to Usyk who will be ringside AGAIN. This time Usyk should break character a little bit and slap Fury's belly. The slap heard around the world. 1 billion in PPV sales.

You've slapped my belly, embarrassed me in front of all these people, I'm going to hurt you badly!

The poll should be whether Fury wins by UD or stoppage. Actually, the poll should be whether Nganou can land a single power punch.

Ghost of a chance, of course, but Ngannou is a large gentleman (very similar dimensions and mass to Whyte) and in MMA had 12 stoppages of his seventeen victories with eleven of those from punches.

If he does land a lucky miracle something, what does that do to Fury's stock in a unification with Usyk? Surely that means kissing goodbye any hopes of being the negotiation A-side, no?

Will this fight make more money than AJ vs Whyte? This is the more intriguing question.

Call me a traitor to boxing, but I have a perverse hope that Ngannou manages to land a hail mary on Fury and knocks him out. Chances are vanishingly slim of course but you never know. It would serve Fury right for letting his head swell bigger than his belly and engaging in sideshow bouts when everybody wants the Usyk showdown.

The more I think about it, the more I'm starting to think Fury might've made a massive embarrassment to boxing that it'll never live down mistake. Yeah, the technique of Ngannou is quite sloppy but it's also unpredictable as hell, he throws from some quite awkward angles that I'm not entirely sure Fury can adequately prepare for or defend against, his hand speed is superior to many of Fury's recent opponents, and his punch selection and punches are far more fluid. And it's not like Fury has an amazing chin, so the idea that someone as crude as Ngannou can't put him down, is sheer folly, Wilder isn't much better in terms of technique and he dropped Fury 4 times. God forbid he catches this lardass sloppy dosser with one of his hellacious uppercuts, because one of these days, he might not make the 10 count.

Yep, I've got a funny feeling something screwy could happen - and oh, man, would the MMA meatheads never let us live it down.

Remember how much stick they gave us about Randy Couture beating a shot to hell James Toney? :shakehead:

And this is our supposed #1 heavyweight in the world (at least among people who've never heard of Usyk...and miniq :sisi1)

Even the haters are trying to convince themselves "something might happen" in this bout. Wew going for big PPV numbers it seems. Thanks guys.

Look on the brightside, it'll rid the sport of that dumpy cowardly attention seeking cancer, he'll retire in shame. But our luck, it'll just be the start of a new trilogy, this time with the actual belts on the line.

It's more than obvious at this point that Fury, aka Mayweather 2.0 is just waiting for Usyk to either be beaten, or to become totally shot, to be an easier opponent for Fury. At least with Floyd he started doing this crap after he retired, but Fury clearly doesn't care about his fanbase nor boxing in general, just in general a total narcissist and hypocrite.

Now, could Zavier - Cameroonian Renegade Angel pull of the upset? Some of the guys above think he could pull a hail Mary and win, but I highly doubt it. There is a reason for this fight, and Fury wouldn't have taken it unless he absolutely thought he could win. The most likely scenario is Fury plays it safe in the four couple rounds and starts to unload on Ngannou (no homo) with his physical strength and gets him out in the mid/late stages of the fight.

One thing for sure: this match is as pointless as Floyd vs Conor was.
Fighting 0-0 opponent for a seasoned, long-career, self-proclaimed GOAT won't improve his legacy at all.

"But this is an official sanctioned pro fight (thus counting in records)"
Any chance you have a source for that? I'm curious who is sanctioning this as a pro fight and who is licensing it.

Im calling Ngannou by hail mary one punch lights out KO. I dont care if it makes boxing look bad, boxing has looked bad since I could remember so that doesn’t mean **** if the MMA guys make a mockery of the sport afterwards. Fury has zero defence, completely evident by the simple fact that Wilder who has zero boxing technique dropped him 4 times. Ngannou is also completely unorthodox so Tyson will catch one on the chin. Either that or Fury knocks himself out with an uppercut. **** all the Fury’s especially that big mouth **** John
