I think there are many far more credible managers / advisors / whatever the hell he does who have probably forgotten more about boxing than Sam Jones will ever know, doesn't have a clue.

I suspect IFL know that people watch video in the small hours and end up watching 2 or 3, and if they can get a few words out of Sam Jones then the algorithm will stick it in front of people when it's needed. The fact his videos tend to pop up in the aftermath of a fight when people will be out on YouTube looking for stuff, tells you a lot. Assume he gets a nice back hander for his time.

I've already said this is a terrible fight. The good thing is Catterall is being active. Apparently the plan is for Catterall and Taylor to rematch early next year. Again I have my doubts as Taylor is still signed to Top Rank.

They could only go on this date and clash with Buatsi Azeez unfrotunately. Wood Warrington is on October 7, KSI Fury is on October 14 on DAZN, and Fury Ngannou is on October 28, so October 21 is the only free date. Apparently Darragh Foley and Robbie Davies Jr will rematch on the undercard. Rhiannon Dixon will fight Thanderz for the European Title, and Peter Mcgrail will be in another 10-rounder.

Boxxer have a fantastic double-header with Lawal Chamberlain too.

 

Beating Linares at this point of his career and at 140 means pretty much nothing for someone worthy of a world ranking. Catterall's got nothing to prove here.

 

Linares is the absolute definition of shot, especially at 140. If Khan is packing glass then Linares is packing rice paper.

 

I'm a big fan of Linares, but he should have retired a few years ago. Still, Catterall is not exactly a heavy handed pressure fighter so it wouldn't surprise me for Linares to go the distance and win a fair few rounds.

 

jesus you're right, lost 3 on the bounce and 5 of his last 8. The one thing I do hate is when Catterall beats him and will talk like he beat the best version. No mate you beat a shadow up.

 

Would love it if Catterall got chinned. It’d serve Matchroom right for cherry picking a massively shot Linares, would get rid of Whitney arse Catterall and would also make Quagmire cry. 3 birds, 1 stone.
