    He probably doesnt' think he's physically strong enough for 147. A lot of boxers can't succeed unless they pound on smaller men.

    Sickening but not surprising. Most boxers go through this these days but few allow fans to see it. Plus it’s harder for older guys. Haney has been doing this for years but he’s young.

    Same day weigh ins would prevent this but promoters won’t allow it because too many fights would be canceled for missed weight. Expect the massive weight losses and rehydration to continue. Plus when they lose they have a ready excuse, or at least their fans do.

    That's not unusual. It's not quite standard practice but that type of intense sweating off is seen all over.

    Weight cutting is even worse in MMA. Boxing weight cutting in comparison is relatively mild.

    Insane video? Just saw a guy get out of a bath, lie down on a bed then then gently rubbed dry with some towels. Doesn't look too brutal to me, looks like he being pampered, lol.

    Obviously boxers do have to go through a lot to make weight as does any athlete that has to make a weight class, whether it be boxing, powerlifting, MMA etc. Fact is chances are both boxers in the ring have been through a similar ordeal to make weight, it's rare for fighters to fight close to their true natural weight.

    Boxing fans give too much credit to weight bullies who beat on smaller men while giving too little credit to smaller boxers who beat bigger boxers.

    Other concern of same day weigh-in aside from cancelled bouts would be boxers fighting with dehydrated skulls, increasing the likelihood of deaths.

    MMA promotion ONE does hydration tests to ensure the fighters are not too dehydrated. That should be standard.
